Kendal at Ithaca

When I walk into Kendal each day I feel welcomed by residents and staff. Staff often go above and beyond to help residents in all areas of care including nursing staff, dining staff, maintenance, activities, EVS, IT services, social work, marketing, and management.

My wife Jan and I just had a great experience with Kendal's Resident Care !! Jan"s knee got a good wack and needed attention right away. Resident Care quickly got an order for an xray. Cayuga Med's imaging facility was near by. In under 2 hours from start to finish we found that there were no broken bones !! The swelling would likely go down on it own with ice and rest.

I love how the Activities and Life Engagement staff members use creative approaches to engage residents in group and individual activities! The residents of the Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Independent Living communities participate in a wide range of activities and outings. Just a few examples of the many activities that the residents can choose from are: boat cruises, karaoke, museum trips, exercise classes, and painting groups. There are many more activities that both groups of residents and individuals can join. Participation in these life enriching opportunities helps the residents to live their best possible lives.

People of color (black) or Spanish are not too welcome in this place. It's a shame racism showed in this kind of places. Just watch the TV Commercial and tell me if you see at least 1 color person. Shameful

I liked the whole complex of Kendal At Ithaca and the idea that you can go there at different stages, starting with living independently, and then assisted living. If you have to go to the hospital, that is there too. They have doctors looking after you, so you don't need to go anywhere else. They showed me various rooms and sizes, activities rooms, and a pool. The staff was very outgoing, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The food is very good. I've tasted it a few times, and I was not disappointed. I know several people who live there already, and they said the food was acceptable. They have a dishwasher and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. They have hallways with benches and little extra rooms. They have musical activities, handcrafts, movies, and outdoor sporting facilities for various sports like tennis.
