Non-English speaking patients will have a more difficult time. They need better food. They also need more diversity with their activities. Not the same games over and over again.
I went to Elderwood Village at Vestal. The people were very informative as to what they do and what they don't do. The facility itself is lovely and my sister's father-in-law was there, and she raves about the place. He was in assisted living for a while. It just was a very good tour. The only thing that they don't do is they do not do bathroom things. But other than that, they would help her dress and she could eat in her room one meal a day. She could eat in her room the other days. They would want her to be in the dining room. They have a beauty shop. They have a common room, exercise…

Some activities are there for them to do. The staff was very friendly and very informative. They kind of bend over backward to make you feel welcome and to give you as much information as you want.

I toured Elderwood Village at Vestal. The staff is very nice. The rooms are a good size. It's a very nice, clean place. I liked it.
What I like the most about Elderwood Village is that they have very friendly and are responsive to mom's needs. It is a nice facility and I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
[name removed] has adjusted well to Elderwood. He joins in with the activities and enjoys interacting with the other residents. His only complaint is short staffed and the meals.
The DoN was confrontational, a bully, deceptive, and rather rude. She was extremely difficult to work with. It was her way or the highway. Asking any questions made her angry. Would Not Recommend for Seniors Needing a Little Help.
The value for cost is hard for me to answer I think for the cost there would be more included in the price but I do know they are competitive in pricing. Plus weekends are real boring for them. I feel sorry for people who don't have family. Over all I was happy
