I definitely would tell them that everyone there is so very caring, kind and compassionate. All meals are excellent. The facility is always so clean, they always have beautiful flowers on the dining tables and they decorated for all holidays so beautiful! Great place for sure.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Ithaca and overall it's been a good experience. The staff, with one exception, are great. Though there are few certified staff. More residents means more staff and right now there are times when only one is on the floor. The food lacks flavor and is frequently not warm. There is also gristle in the beef. The activities are nearly great.

Mom was at Brookdale Ithaca for 4 years in both assisted and memory care. The care was fine for most of the 4 years, as long as I stayed on top of them with constant visits, emails and phone calls. Then she got sick and was sent to the hospital. They wanted her to rehab. She did and they still refused to take her back. They said her doctor would decide if she could go back or not, held a meeting without me or the doctor and decided she could not return to Brookdale. The doctor called and said they had nothing to do with the decision. This was after 4 weeks of hospital and rehab. I could have been looking for another place during that time. I had to ask for a written reason as none was given. Then they charged me for 6 days even though they told me I could keep her stuff there until her rehab was done. Their own corporate disagreed and deleted the 6 days. Mom is doing very well, walking and eating in a facility in another state that actually wants her there.

This facility is just great! Everything has been pretty good. I would recommend them to family and friends.

Brookdale Ithaca has been great so far. We get lots of good communication from the staff. It's one of the better places I've seen around in terms of cleanliness. We've been really happy with it.

Not great, not terrible, Direct care staff are good , Very communicative, attentive and kind Rooms are very pleasant, Food is tasty and well prepared but much too much sugar and fat. Management is uneven. Lots of emphasis on marketing which seems to bear little resemblance to reality. My mother fell in the shower while being attended by staff, They were apologetic, and I understand that accidents happen but we were billed for several months room rent while she was away at the hospital and at a full service nursing home for rehab and her Brookdale charges increased when she returned because she needed more services. Basically, Brookdale was not able to keep her safe and profited from their inability. I would not recommend this facility if you can find a better option.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I thought Brookdale Ithaca seemed like a nice place, overall. The staff we met were friendly and the place seemed clean and well run. We ended up going with a different Brookdale community that we thought would be a better fit, but they were both very nice.
