Spent 3 months here rehabilitating from a broken femur(my thigh), it was a great recovery. The facility is dated and could use some TLC but the staffing is wonderful. Shout out to the best CNA’s(Jarvis, Flo & Otie) they care for you with grace and understanding. My favorite nurses Shohkista and Daniel. Last but not least my physical and occupational therapists Mohammed Abdelhalim and Jessica Thompson. All of full if compassion and work you to get you back from your illness or surgery. They staff turned a scary situation to an attainable goal even those not mentioned were lovely too. 5 star…

DO NOT USE OXFORD NURSING HOME!! please take your loved ones out if you are able to. The nurses refused my dad’s request to go to the hospital when he had pneumonia and even taunted him when he said he’d call himself. They do not treat patients with care nor respect! Please take your loved ones out!
Kind caring compassionate staff. Would highly recommend.
Always respectful and attentive to my mom and I love that.
It's a lively place with an amazing Recreation Department and an Administration who listens, to whom you can voice a concern at any time and receive a timely response and best resolution. My loved one has been a resident here for seven years. Prior to the placement I visited places in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. What most resides in my memory are images of residents staring at the walls, in silence. Truly ONH is a world apart. Activities are available almost all day with a lovely, nurturing staff who foster engagement and social interaction to truly enrich the residents' lives. No one should be lonely here. The receptionist brightens everyone's day and welcomes everyone. The nursing staff knows their residents. For the most part the staff is stable, attentive and approachable. Both physical and occupational therapy are available 7 days a week, I believe. The Director of Nursing devotes herself tirelessly to the care of the residents here. Residents are kept clean and the housekeeping is good. In these last seven years I have witnessed the ever constant efforts to make this place the finest it can be. As with life, it happens a day at a time.
In August 2025 my family and I toured Oxford Nursing Home. Pleased with the tour, we reached out via email regarding an attempt to place my family member at Oxford Nursing Home. On August 4, I reached out to Valerie Cruz with no response. On August 11, I sent an additional email and arranged for my relative to visit the facility to get an update on our first communication attempt. Later that day, Valerie responded, and we had a phone call. Afterward, I sent a text summarizing our conversation, which was acknowledged. When I followed up on August 25 regarding the information Valerie Cruz had indicated she would provide, she called and stated she never promised any details and could not offer insight until documents were received. Since then, I have sent multiple messages (August 28 and September 12) confirming that documentation was submitted, and our case manager has also reached out several times. To date, we have not received any response. This lack of communication over three months is concerning and does not reflect the level of support families expect during the admission process. When admissions communication is inconsistent or unresponsive, it raises questions about how other departments may operate and how residents and their families are treated. Oxford Nursing Home website states a "trusted home for rehab and recovery." Unfortunately, this does not reflect my experience, as individuals cannot trust your company to secure their documents or respond to communications in a timely manner. As a lifelong Fort Greene resident, I am embarrassed to have such subpar services in my neighborhood. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements can be made to ensure families receive the support and responsiveness they deserve during such an important decision-making process.
