Heathwood is absolutely the best that’s out there for Assisted Living. I have worked in the Eldercare field for many years and this is always the first place I recommend. The staff here are so kind, caring and professional. Their residents are truly treated like family. Heathwood is also very accommodating to many levels of care including memory care. It is also privately owned by family with just two communities. The values and level of excellence cannot be matched.
Heathwood has been a good home for 4 years for our Mom, who started in Assisted Living and transitioned to Memory Care last year. The staff is warm and loving , with competent nursing care and effective strategies for personal care. We are especially pleased with the level of personal attention Mom gets in Memory Care. Staff in both Assisted Living and Memory Care frequently have personally encouraged Mom to participate in the variety of activities that are offered, and Leah in Memory Care has gotten her to try new things. Heathwood has been a good home for 4 years for our Mom, who started in Assisted Living and transitioned to Memory Care last year. Staff in both Assisted Living and Memory Care frequently have personally encouraged Mom to participate in the variety of activities that are offered, and Leah in Memory Care has gotten her to try new things. We have enjoyed special activities like Irish dancing, RPO ensemble concerts and family holiday events. While no place is perfect, we know Mom is safe and loved at Heathwood, and have recommended Heathwood to several friends.

The person who did an intake for me and my elderly mother was terrible, she denied saying that they did not have the staff to help her, when in fact they did. She was cold and unfriendly. No patience for her or my mom. I would go elsewhere.
All around beautiful community! Service is amazing! Staff and residents are attentive and polite to everyone. Facility is clean and tidy. Variety of floor plans with kitchenettes, bathroom and shower inside each apartment. I've enjoyed our meals particularly at lunchtime, which I've experienced a tuna sandwich. Movie theater and music chimes with residents are my two favorite activities. However, there seems to be something for everyone... with about 5-6 activities each day! :) -Mark B.
Staff is great including admin, maintenance, and healthcare workers. Cleaning and laundry personnel as well. Food is generally good. Inconsistent on weekends with limited staff. Lots of live music each week and party events for all the holidays. So much better in all areas than Fairport Baptist
I called n checked on the status on my application. Cuz I was trying to let these people know that I'm available for the weekend position. So I left one message on the manager, voicemail. And I haven't heard back from her. It only takes one message I'm not gonna be leaving 2, n 3, messages on her voicemail like that. So da way I see it. They must not need no one to work da weekend shift that dog on bad. If I didn't hear back from them, well I not gonna sweat it. I'm moving on, they don't care n I don't care.💅 No problem n no worries at all. 😊
I would give Heathwood a 4. There have been some instances of poor communication. The facility is spotless! Staff are always friendly and approachable, from maintenance to administration I have had numerous discussions with administrators regarding mom's lack of hygiene. I know they can't force her to shower, but there are techniques to get residents to shower, and I don't believe they use them. Always lovely meals with many options. I can't comment on activities, as mom refuses to participate. I have noted, however, that the monthly calendars have quite a variety of offerings. It is affordable but still offers many amenities . I never smell urine, no trash is visible, no spills, the landscaping is lovely and well kept, and no trash in parking lots. Friendly staff...everyone meets your eye and says hello. They extend themselves. Mom misplaced her keys, and within 15 minutes a new set was made and tried to be sure they worked.
