As a mother of an individual who has been a resident of the Garden of Eden Home since 2004. I am very involved with my son and have never had am experience like the others posted. I have continuouse communications with the facility owners as well as the administrator and case management team. My phone calls are always returned, in a timely fashion. The facility is extremely receptive to any and all issues that I have brought to their attention, and follow up with me so I am aware of all situations and resolutions. I am grateful for the quality of life the staff have given not only my son but…

I am grateful for the quality of life the staff have given not only my son but to me. I am able to have a mother son relationship even now with my mobility issues affecting me to visit my son at the facility. They assist me in having my son visit me and even have sent me pictures of the fully renovated rooms and dinning rooms . I have advocated for my child his entire life and his father and I would never allow my son to live in a place that these other individuals claim this facility is. I know they are regulated by the department of health.
While searching the web I happened to come upon The Garden of Eden HFA which my sister has been a resident of since 2001. What is most concerning as a very involved family member is that the individuals that felt the need to post such negative reviews would actually allow their family members to livie in such a facility, that they claim this facility is. I will only describe my experience for 25 years of having my sister in this facility. I personally have the Administrator cell phone to address any issues my sister and or my family may have. I have the upmost respect for the staff that come to work every day to ensure the safety and well being of every resident that resides at this facility. I completely understand situations happen and when they do staff are receptive as well as reactive to ensure issues are addressed.
I go to the school across from this place. For months a perverted person from this building keeps harassing students that wait for the bus. He waits for us and asks weird questions that make us uncomfortable. Another resident from there sits in front of the store asking for money and asking people to feed him. Do better!
Horrible place nobody cares full of bed bugs and mice in my sisters bed room The owners don't give a damnThe place should be closed down I wish somebody would help the people in that place get an inspector over there right away
I had the pleasure of working with these individuals, and I feel the reviews don’t do justice. I would gladly stay here, and I wouldn’t hesitate to let any of my family do the same. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, I can confidently say you won’t find a place like this in the Bronx (sorry) or Queens (not sorry). We’re in Brooklyn, lets relax a bit with the light on facts reviews. As a licensed healthcare professional, I encourage ANYONE to objectively voice your factual concerns to the proper agencies, even if you don’t think it should be reported; if you are concerned about it, report it, but do so with honesty and fairness, do not weaponize it to a mechanism of control. One member of our society wrote: I have broken down one such weapon of mass de function here 1. "Staff is very unpleasant" Whom? The entire staff? If that’s what you mean, that’s a bald-faced lie; articulate who you had this experience with; there are ways to address this; labeling the entire staff unpleasant is baseless and laughable. 2. "Unprofessional"? Let's dive into that! Who exactly are we talking about here? Do you mean the entire staff, or was it someone outside the team, like a vendor? As dedicated professionals, they have high standards for conduct—did someone truly step out of line? Or was it simply a case of unmet expectations? Hey, we can't all do three backflips and a pirouette at 3 AM while performing a Bach overture in C-Major, right? Maybe it stung a bit that MaiMaw landed at number 34 on the HHA’s list for that same recital! When my mother had a stroke, my advice was to lower her expectations, and if you do, you’ll be amazed by what these hardworking pros can achieve! Remember, they’re just like you, human with two hands, so let's treat them with the respect they deserve!” 3. "And so on". Now, I’m not attempting to be funny here, as that would be rude, right? According to Webster, “The phrase "so on" is a brief, common way to indicate continuation or repetition of something previously mentioned.” So, I’m not following you on this. Do better Humans, plz
My Mom was there maybe 10 years ago, they took all her money and they put her in a broom closet with no windows, they created a room in a broom closet, my Mom had no place to go, the food was negative 5 stars if there is such a thing, diluted soup, cheap hotdogs completely in edible, when I threatened to take her out of there, they refused. With the help of her social worker I was able to leave with her. I would not give them my dead dog to look after. Despicable people.
I was forced to give this place 1 Star so my review would be posted. I knew someone who lived there 25 years ago and it was a nightmare of a facility even then!! She told me her clothes were constantly disappearing and there were limited accommodations for clothes storage anyway. The inadequate staff was totally unqualified to deal with the patients. The Management was the worst. They would turn a deaf ear and not deal with legitimate problems that were brought to their attention by concerned relatives. Garden of Eden??? What a joke!
the saff are super friendly and treat the resident's like family. the owner knows every resident by name and knows their diagnosis. The place is super nice and the new rooms are wheelchaor friendly
