My aunt recently discharged home from a rehab stay at elderwood at Lancaster. Although the reviews, we still decided to go with elderwood at Lancaster from the information the nurses at Mercy hospital provided us with. I will tell you that unit one provided better care to my aunt than she received at the hospital. The nurses were very kind, the unit manager Kristina answered any and all of my questions, Marcy in the business office was a life savior and I cannot thank her enough for explaining insurance time and time again to myself and husband. We had a clear picture of her care the whole…

We had a clear picture of her care the whole time. Joe did everything in his power along with his therapy team to get my aunt home, and she is thrilled to be back with her family. Thank you to everyone at elderwood!!
I reached out to the director in a email with my concerns after my mother was there for an extended stay, however she did not respond, this was incredibly disappointing. This is an old building that smells and needs to be updated. The food quality is poor and they often run out of regular things like yogurt. It was suggested by the staff that we bring in food for my mother because they recognize how bad the food is. They are often short staffed and some of the staff shouldn’t even be employed, not always kind to the residents and take way too long to answer call buttons, especially at night.…

If your loved one is in need of a stay at this facility I recommend your family be present as much as possible. You need to make sure they are eating, being changed, and are not sitting in bed or in a wheelchair chair all day. There are good people that work there, and the therapy department is good, but overall this facility needs to make many improvements. Update:I received an email from the new director, she acknowledged there are things that need to be addressed, I wish her success in making the necessary changes
Absolutely terrible my mother was put on morphine and some other medication to make her comfortable during her in their word's "transition to death " without even notifing me. Never changed her colostomy bags on time and when they did it was an annoyance to them. and talk about a rude staff. STAY AWAY...
Deplorable. I once heard the Director of Nursing here say at another facility "snitches get stitches," with regards to employees and family members speaking up about real concerns and abuses. Real nice, real professional. She fits right in there. Congratulations.
Extremely understaffed. Food was awful. Day staffing was great. Their rehab team was the best part of the facility.
My mom was sent here for rehab and wound care . This place is horrible. Under staffed. My mom is been here three days and has had a fall all three days. They said she was not hurt. I found blood oñ her shirt and found a nice wound that was still bleeding. She is here and just had major surgery . And on blood thinners. No one watches any one. This place looks nice from out side but very dirty. I would not even get one star.. this is crazy I have to come in daily to see if my mom is getting care. Run the other way if yourlove one has to come here . The communication is also 😔
Terrible experience to many things to mention. Just glad we are out of there
Would give it a zero if I could. Don't let your family member suffer here. Seriously so much neglect it's sad. They shouldn't be open.
