It is very difficult to make the decision that your loved one needs constant care and entrusting others to do it. I would like to thank the entire 2nd floor team and the Admissions Department at Eger, specifically Denise, for giving me peace of mind for the care of my 94 year old Grandmother. They are making her transition towards long-term care more comfortable and caring not only for my grandma, but for our family.
This facility is incredible. I am so grateful we were able to admit my father into Egers Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Staten Island. From the minute we walked in Warren, the security guard, made us feel welcomed. My mother was nervous about the care for my father but was overwhelmed by how reassuring Georgina, our Clinical Nurses Assistant, made us feel. This is not a hospital, this facility, is like home. In our situation my father needs to regain his strength so he can walk again We are allowed to bring in outside food. Visitors are allowed 24/7. Theere are ample ables outside to…
This facility is incredible. Theere are ample ables outside to enjoy a meal as you enjoy the gorgeous views. The care my father has be receiving has been excellent. If I could git Egers a 6+ star rating I would Both the PT (physical therapist) and the OT(occupational therapist ) have surpassed my expectations. Before my father was admitted he barely had the strength to stand up and walk. Yesterday he is able to walk 40ft and stand for his daily weigh in. The nice part for us is that there is a Catholic priest that offers Mass every Wednesday and Sunday at 2pm. I believe the are other religious services offered for the other religious Faiths for its residents. I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking a place that is compassionate towards it's patients.
My father was a resident at Eger Nursing Home for six months, and I can’t say enough about the outstanding care he received. Dr. Tirado, the medical team, nurses, aides, and support staff made him feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home. Their compassion, professionalism, and dedication gave our family tremendous peace of mind. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did for my father. I highly recommend Eger Nursing Home to anyone looking for quality care for a loved one.
My physical therapy has helped me progress a great deal! Eger offers a variety of great activities that keep us entertained! The staff are always willing to help.
The staff are very friendly and the activities are fun and engaging!
The nurses are nice. Management is professional . AIDS a mixture of caring and Cold. Some are not concerned with how comfortable you are.How warm you are whether you're in pain? They just have a job to do on your body. And they want to do it as fast as they can using towels instead of soft washcloths, the way they are supposed to. 2 of The aids fell asleep when they are supposed to be watching you during their shift. So you don't jump off or fall off the bed. My loved one was in there, and they were constantly hurting them. And they just would go very fast leave them uncovered, screaming that they're cold just being unconcerned. This was extremely stressful to my loved one, And also to me. The worst part about this place is my mother went in there able to speak. Try to jump off the bed continuously, and very strong. Sadly, they did not get her appetite. Enhanced for several days, so she had not eaten for several days. Debt is between the worst one of the worst hospitals. I have ever had the experience of being in. University south on seaview Ave. MY MOTHER HADN'T EATEN FOR SEVERAL DAYS. DUE TO AN ANTIBIOTIC, SHE WAS TAKEN AND THE FACT THAT SEAVIEW HOSPITAL DID NOT SEND HER THERE WITH THE ORDER THAT SHE WAS TAKEN AN APPETITE ENHANCER. SO FOR SEVERAL DAYS, SHE DID NOT GET THE APPETITE ENHANCER WAS ON ANTIBIOTICS THAT MADE HER SICK AND SHE DID NOT EAT. IF SHE HAD TWO OUNCES OF DRINK OR FOOD A DAY THAT WAS A LOT. THEY FORCED MY MOTHER TO HAVE PHYSICAL THERAPY TWICE A DAY, EVEN THOUGH SHE HADN'T EATEN FOR SEVERAL DAYS.AND SHE WAS NINETY TWO YEARS OLD. THE NEXT THING I KNOW MY MOTHER CANNOT SPEAK ANYMORE, SHE CANNOT WALK AND SHE IS LIKE A VEGETABLE. ALL DUE TO SEAVIEW HOSPITAL AND EDGAR NURSING HOMES, PHYSICAL THERAPY DEPARTMENT. I HAVE BEEN IN THIRTEEN ACCIDENTS, AND I AM WELL ACQUAINTED WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY. SOME OF THESE PEOPLE WORKING PHYSICAL THERAPY WORE BARBARIC. HOW CAN YOU NOT CARE IF A PERSON NINETY TWO YEARS OLD HASN'T EATEN FOR TEN DAYS, ENFORCE THEM TO DO PHYSICAL THERAPY TILL YOU DESTROY THEM COMPLETELY. ALL ABOUT THE MONEY IN THE END. DOESN'T MATTER?SHE DIDN'T EAT, DOESN'T MATTER?SHE WAS DISAPPEARING.SHE HAS TO HAVE PHYSICAL THERAPY. AND THE VERY UNINTELLIGENT PEOPLE TRIED TO PUT A TREMENDOUS BRACE ON HER NECK, WHICH WAS BROKEN IN ANOTHER REHAB, THAT WAS THREE TIMES LARGER THAN HER NECK. SHE'S SCREAMED UNTIL I PULLED IT OUT OF THEIR HANDS. THANK GOD, THE ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST TOLD THE PERSON THAT WAS THE HEALTHCARE PROXY TO THROW IT AWAY. THANK GOD FOR HONEST.GOOD DOCTORS LIKE THIS MAN. BUT THIS PLACE HELPED COMPLETELY DESTROY MY MOTHER. STARTING WITH THE HOSPITAL, THE FALL IN CLOVE LAKE.WHERE SHE BROKE HER NECK AND THEN FORCING HER WHILE SHE WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND HADN'T EATEN FOR SEVERAL DAYS TO DO PHYSICAL THERAPY. WHAT AN EVIL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WE HAVE IN AMERICA.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to the entire healthcare team at Egers for our father. We are so grateful for the loving care provided. They went above and beyond to help us get him home where he passed away with his loving partner of 66 years, our mother.
Mom is on the 4 floor and the CNA's and nurses are great. Staff overall is great. I am so happy I picked Edgars. We need the patients room cleaned up. Maybe nice paint job.
