Not only did he take his time to explain every step of my treatment plan; he encouraged, motivated, and inspired me to push on through difficult moments, he even celebrated the smallest of milestones with me. From someone who has lived in this community for a long time and knows this facility. This is the kind of service that you would like to know genuinely cares about the well-being of their patients, which makes all the difference. I would gladly give this establishment five stars and recommend Downtown Brooklyn Nursing Rehabilitation, to anyone in need of a caring, compassionate, and effective rehabilitation facility. With heartfelt appreciation, I thank you all. Pamela G. Pegram
I had such warm and caring staff. Physical therapy was great my therapist made certain I had all I needed to go home as far as equipment. I had a thirty day stay for rehabilitation after knee replacement the food is good they have good sandwiches for snacks. I would recommend them and I plan to revisit when I have my hip replacement

Staffing is wonderfull. Very kind and helpful. Always there to help you when ever needed. Always with a smile and a good morning. They make you feel comfortable, relax, and safe. Food here is fabulous And they make sure you get enough. Hats off to the chef. Medication is delivered on a timely basis as needed. I'm glad im going home but im gonna miss this place and the people here, staff and friends. OT, and PT staff are very professional and encourage you to preform to your best ability. They work hard with you to get you better and do a great job at it. The Nurses and the CNA do a excellent job caring for you whether you 25 years old or 90.
My experience with the occupational and physical therapy was great although it started it started off kind of painful but as kept I going to build up my strength and muscles it wasn't as painful. All the therapists I worked with worked me very hard and they were very understanding of my back pain and their motivation helped through each day. Losing weight was one of my main goals and I achieve some weight loss and I still have a ways to go and I'm going to keep working out now that I'm home I'm going to keep doing the things that my therapist’s have taught me. I would like to thank Christiana, my OT therapist and don't let her pretty face and petite size fool you, she'll definitely give you a work-out with the added on weights, lol and a she has a kind heart. I would like to thank Kermit, as I called Mr. Torture nah he's not bad, a great OT therapist, he just made sure you get what you're there for and the meaning of no pain no gain that's him and he motivates you with music and a gentle smile. I would also like to thank Benson, Erica, and Anthony. Although our time was short together working with you all was fun I enjoyed the laughs. I also would like to thank for those who I didn't work with Paula, Dana and Maddie (the supervisor) for your kindness and friendliness. To all of you keep up the great work. I also have to mention my time with my physical therapist's. Mati best PT ever, who made me sweat but never gave up on me made me work very hard walking and stair climbing and a variety of other exercises, you made me laugh and you’re a great dancer. Thanks Mati for caring. Emerson, although we didn't work very long together I appreciate you for your time well spent and your kindness and friendliness as well as Queen and James. I would also like to thank for those who I didn't work with Nessa, Nidhi, and Mariza (the supervisor), for your kindness and friendliness as well. Simon to whom I'll never forget, the juggler, singer, dancer and always made me laugh the one thing I'll miss the most about you and saying to you is "Simon Says" and your enlightening and spiritual responses. To you all keep up the great work. To all my CNA nurses and RN’s from 3rd floor North, who helped take care of me, I’m especially grateful to you all for your friendliness, kindness, laughter and support:Tricia, Selven, Sizor, Cain, Patricia, Johnson, Lucien, Benjamin, Jeannie, Sheffi, Margaret, Barkley, Farley, Mc Berney, Sky, Hazel, Melba, and Katie. The kind & caring staff: admissions (Jason & Gabby) all the nurse supervisors, doctors, social workers, dietitian(Kelly), maintenance(Alex), housekeeper’s and a special sincere thanks to director Archie who always made sure I was okay. Sincerely, Joy Wright 2/17-4/10/2026
I was at Downtown Brooklyn from January 15th to February 9th and I had an excellent experience at Downtown Brooklyn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. From beginning to end, the entire process was smooth, supportive, and truly exceeded my expectations. A huge shoutout to the admissions team they were absolutely amazing. They made everything feel easy during what could have been a stressful time, guiding me every step of the way with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. I also want to recognize Simon and Emerson in physical therapy. They were outstanding knowledgeable, motivating, and incredibly attentive. Their dedication made a real difference in my recovery, and they always made sure I felt comfortable and confident throughout the process. Overall, the staff here goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for top-quality care and a team that truly cares about their patients.
My mother was here for longterm nursing care. Starting with the good: Day to day care was very attentive. The therapists were excellent and the nursing staff and CNAs checked in regularly and had a good rapport with residents. She always felt comfortable and safe which were the most important things. The bad: Good luck getting in touch with anyone by phone if you don't have a direct extension. The automated phone system is terrible and half the voicemail inboxes are not set up so you can't be sure who you are leaving a message for. The onboarding process is chaotic. Yes, I understand that nursing homes can be very busy but there certain things that every resident AND their family need to know right away. Things that were not explained to me and I had inquire about on my own include the clothing inventory process, how to contact a staff physician, how to make special requests, etc. I never got a phone call to discuss and confirm her medical issues. I was not given a list of contacts at the facility. All new residents and their family members should receive a booklet outlining processes and a list of facility contacts with extension numbers and email addresses. I have no idea why they do not do this. We eventually got a new resident booklet, but it was left on my mother's side table and she couldn't read it because her vision was so poor--which they would have known if there was an intake interview! I cannot say this is a bad place because it's not. If your loved one ends up here, they will be cared for but you will need to very proactive in learning the facility processes and policies and figuring out who to speak to for what.
