It's ok
My advice just dont. Luckily we found a bed elsewhere for my relative. This used to be a top choice. Not anymore.
This place is terrible. Dirty, uncompassionate. My dad was there for only rehabilitation. After two days we took him out. He is in his late 80's with dementia. My mom was visiting him and for six hours nobody ever came in to ask if he needed something to drink or eat. My mom went out to get him some food and was the one giving him water and cranberry juice the entire time NOBODY came in. My mom used the ladies room and when she returned my dad was walking down the hallway with only his underwear and the staff was laughing. This place is disgraceful. I would never recommend it. My mom used the ladies room and when she returned my dad was walking down the hallway with only his underwear and the staff was laughing. This place is disgraceful. I would never recommend it. When they finally brought him dinner, it was a small waffle kids size with two strawberries. Nothing else. He was so hungry. My mom went out and brought him a sandwich and some fruit. The director could care less and what about the patients who have no family. The guy next to my dad had six bottles of urine filled and no body came to change it or clean him up. My mom finally asked someone to help the gentleman. I give this a zero star. Not even a one star.
My mother was recently here for respiratory therapy after a hospital stay with pneumonia. From day 1 they spoke down to her as if she were a mental patient (far from it). She had a roommate who was left to sit in her feces for hours until shift change because the CNA had “had it with her” after the elderly woman, who was trying to hold onto her while being moved back to bed, “dug her nails into CNA’s arm” prompting CNA to throw her back in wheelchair to sit for hours. Then the woman’s diarrhea was left on the floor and not cleaned for days. Mom would try to ring the desk and she was constantly ignored by staff. Food was barely edible. Mom received decent Respiratory therapy but when the therapist went on vacation for a week, no substitute was provided so she was there for a week longer for no purpose. She was released by ambulance back to hospital as she had contracted pneumonia again after getting rid of it early on in her stay. Also developed cellulitis in her leg in this nightmare of a place. Doctors were only available to see patients one day a week. Ridiculous! This place needs to be shut down!
1star is being graceful
My mother recently went to Wells Nursing Home for rehab. What resulted from day 1 was a nightmare for her and our family. By the second week she had contracted rashes due to poor care and an unclean environment. I was informed the facility is under new management and most of the seasoned staff had moved on due to the new, poor working conditions. She was denied care by a doctor. I was told I could not speak to the doctor concerning her suddenly decreasing health and was not provided with proper documentation by a doctor. They refused to let me take her to her own physician. Long story short she was removed from the facility by me. They were refusing to let her go so we had to jump through many hoops to get her adequate care. For the sake of the elderly, this facility should be investigated if for nothing else cleanliness and protocols concerning illnesses that develop during their "care". Avoid at all cost.
The young man with the beard that runs activities is so friendly. And I can truly tell that he cares for my mom.
My wife was invented to Wells house and we couldn't have asked for any better care she was treated like a queen they did everything possible for her benefit to make her more comfortable and to do everything that was needed for her care they were absolutely wonderful Renee Schwartz and her nursing staff or just incredible a great place
