My grand mother was recently admitted to this rehab facility after being discharged from the hospital and we are very pleased with the care she received. The entire process went smoothly, and the staff was caring and supportive throughout , my grandma loved Lissette her nurse ! A special thank you to Dr. Motieian for being so attentive, compassionate, and helpful during the whole process. My grand mother has now been discharged, and our family is very happy with her recovery and overall experience here.
Amazing staff very professional. Great fixtures in the community
Was supposed receive certain Meds every 4 hours . One every day at 6pm without fail . Every 4 hours turned out to be once or twice a day . Missed 3 days of important meds.. Nursing staff way below standards . If you have to rely on the nurses to administer your meds stay away....
Very well known for Rehabilitation and inpatient assistance. Has Psychiatric and Geriatric, Stroke and Shared and Private Rooms
First, the housekeeping & kitchen staff actually work harder than some medical staff. Some nurse's aides are exceptional, while others are just lazy. One male nurse, on the third floor, does his job extremely well and genuinely cares. However, you will find other nurses and aides, standing around gossiping & doing nothing. Some of the rooms stink of pee and poop, when you walk through the hallways. Please do not send your loved one here. Basically, they run up your insurance. Seriously, I don't know the CEO or Managing Supervisor for staff. But you need to wake up and smell the coffee
Do not send your loved one to United Hebrew of New Rochelle. The nursing staff were dismissive and blamed the patient for their medical needs. Medical procedures were Not followed. Instead of having their medical needs met, our loved one was repeatedly dismissed by nursing staff. Out of desperation the patient called 911 for help. Of course, once taken to the ER, the patient got the help they needed. To make matters worse, United Hebrew never contacted the family to inform them of what was happening. The family had no idea the patient went to the ER by ambulance, alone and immobile. Unfortunately, United Hebrew came highly recommended by a prior acute rehab. Our family member was removed from United Hebrew within 24 hours and placed in a different rehab which met their needs immediately and with compassion.
I waited several months to post this review to see if my anger subsided, but my dad and I were recently talking about his stay here and it upset me all over again. I feel for the nurses and some of the aides and the social worker who really are kind and doing their best, but this place is overall ABYSMAL. My father is 90 years old and came here for rehab. I’ve never seen him so depressed in my life, although he thankfully rebounded after his release. The place is so understaffed that it can take an hour or more just for them to respond to the button. During that time, he was often immobilized, unable even to sit up or turn off the light, but some of the aides yelled at him when he would complain. He once called me on the verge of tears because he needed water and no one would respond. I called the desk three times over the span of 20 minutes, and the nurse had the nerve to yell at me and hang up on me…for requesting that someone bring my father water. I finally threatened to call the police, and only then did he get his water. I complained and spoke to someone all the way at the top of the company, but it only helped in the short-term. I also often found that his catheter bag was full and on the verge of bursting. I don’t know what they pay, but I do know that some of the staff members there should never be allowed to work with the public, let alone the sick and vulnerable. The fact that they haven’t been fired tells me that they must not pay well enough to attract decent staff. I’m sure lots of other homes are like this, but I still feel I need to be honest so as to help others make an informed decision or to get the attention of management. As far as I understand, this place is under new management and it’s very much about the financial bottom line, which only ever leads to worse care. What scares me is that they also do dementia care, and I fear for those who are unable to express themselves or remember how they were treated. This place was a nightmare.
I went to visit my mom, Catherine Regan, age 91, at her new home on the second floor of United Hebrew. I could not be happier to see what is going on at this wonderful facility! There is no smell of urine when you enter the building, enter the floor, nor any of the rooms! The facility is spotless the floors are Shining, the employees caring for my mother could not be friendlier, happier, nor more caring! My mother's clothes were clean and neat, she look like she could have attended church very easily! Her fingernails were clean, her hair was clean and nicely brushed, she had no skin abnormalities that I could discern, certainly no skin tears, and as my mother said to me," I feel fine!". I'm an old RN that has a lot of nursing home experience. I put myself through nursing school in the 70s working as an aide in a nursing home. At intermittent times in my life I worked as an RN dispensing medication in nursing homes and then went on to be a lawyer defending nursing homes. United Hebrew is what every Skilled Nursing Facility should strive to be! Thank you Joanne, and much thanks to all the pleasant people who are doing so much for my mother and our family! God bless you all!
