The entire staff is caring and wonderful. They are very responsive to any ideas or issues. The activities are wonderful as is the food. I am very lucky my mom was so well cared for there.
My mother spent only 2 1/2 months at the Maplewood. Though her time there was short, we saw her go from being reluctant and somewhat resentful of having to leave her home, to being engaged and content. All the things she worried about not liking at a skilled nursing home either never materialized or were proved to be wrong. Mom loved meeting new people, being involved in all the activities provided there, and, most of all the soup. When it came time for her final days, she was no longer a stranger there. We are so happy with how Maplewood takes care of my mother in law. They are the best.
The staff was incredibly caring- they really got to know our mother. We felt like part of the Maplewood family from the 1st day.
I have always felt comfortable knowing that we made a tough decision, but the best decision. The Maplewood staff, facilities and care is top rate.
My mother was at resident at Maplewood and recieved such wonderful care from the CNAs, nurses, PT and activities team. My brothers and I spent a great deal of time there and saw first hand the level of empathy, compassion and inclusion with all the residents. So many activities to participate in, from concerts, games, flower arranging, pet visits, exercise and outdoor events. I made so many connections there that now I am a volunteer and enjoy every minute....I look at it as instead of a skilled nursing facility with residents it's a home with alot of friends!
My mother has been at the Maplewood for over a year and a half and has said many times how happy she is there. We have become friends with staff and residents. They have so many daily activities and many events which they encourage the family to join in. It is a comfort for us knowing she is well taken care of.
Maplewood Nursing Home is the only nursing home to put your loved one in. In searching for a good nursing home to place my husband, I toured many facilities. I did not find just a good place but a PERFECT place. Why do I say this? They had all services that almost anybody going to a nursing home might require with professionals to implement those services. The facility was very clean and well kept. As a nurse myself, I looked at the residents and found that all of them were dressed, hair combed and presentable for visitors or meal time. After my husband was there for a week, I was wheeling him down to a music concert and on the way there, any staff person we passed said “Hi Keith.” He smiled broadly which smiles were a rare happening with him. He felt he was accepted and welcome to his new home. It was more than that to me like a big weight lifted to see his happiness. Meals were really good and he is a picky eater so if he did not like it, he was asked what he would prefer from a secondary menu. He always found something. Activities are ongoing with 2-3 a day and always a variety. Some are volunteers and some are professionals. Always good! The nursing staff is incredible! They listen to your concerns and questions answering them with professionalism! The call lights are answered quickly which is very important. I could go on and on with positive statements but my very first sentence says it all- Maplewood Nursing Home is the ONLY nursing home to place your loved one.”
