So pleasantly surprised to visit. Great location right on the edge of Port Washington and Roslyn. Welcoming, warm and going through exciting positive changes. A rental Independent Living community.
What a lovely place to visit. My dear friend and former neighbor invited me to visit and I was so fortunate to be invited for lunch! The community is warm and welcoming. The residents all seemed very happy. The lunch was delicious and everyone made me feel right at home. So happy my dear friend is in such a great place with caring, kind people.
Vendors Beware – Late Payments & No Accountability I performed at here and had to file a small claims case just to get paid—six months late. Despite multiple follow-ups, they ignored their responsibility until legal action forced them to pay right before the court date. Unprofessional and unacceptable. Vendors, think twice before working with them.
Such great nurses and staff! The facility is taking great care of my mom and everyone is friendly and helpful. I'd maybe change the carpeting but .glad she's there.
No help no aides no one to be found!!! How can you keep this place up and running.
The staff during the tour was wonderful. The community was more than we wanted to spend, and the community was too large for my loved one. I didn't feel as a welcoming and a homey feeling when we walked into the community.
I feel bad writing this review knowing how important our healthcare centers and workers are to this country, but I also feel compelled to warn other caregivers about the Tuttle Center. We put my dad here after a week at NorthShore to complete his recovery process. I can confidently say it was the worst decision we ever made. My dad was able to walk and talk when he entered. He left in an emergency ambulance and eventually passed. When he entered the center, we specifically asked the staff to help him eat as he was unable to steady his fork. For 10 days, they put his food down on a tray and simply left the room. They didn't even help him open the wrappers. They never exercised him once despite their commitment to doing so. They also never helped him go to the bathroom. Within a week he became bed-ridden and lost nearly 20 pounds. I went there every day and watched his decline firsthand. I pleaded for more services. They promised me that they would address these issues. Still everyday I visited was the same thing: he was alone, no one had unwrapped his meals, no one exercised him and no one helped him go the bathroom. He was simply helpless and, as a result, became increasingly disabled. And then came Covid. This late into the pandemic and the Center was incapable of controlling an outbreak! It started with one patient and then literally every day it spread throughout the Center. My dad got it and was eventually rushed to the emergency room. The bottom line: the Tuttle Center is all about first impressions. The grounds are beautiful. But I can assure you that I would never send anyone to this rehab center again. Please consider my heartbreak when you decide whether to trust your own loved one to the Tuttle Center.
They often didn’t check on my father leaving him ho sit in dirty diapers while he has a wound on his backside that went septic being how he ended up in there. He contracted COVID while there and they said they would continue PT with him in his room. All they did was come and change him for the day and say that was OT. He was scared and alone at night and they seemed put out by him. I could never reach the higher ups they never returned calls and nurses from one shift didn’t know what happened in the prior shift. It might have good ratings but the care is severely subpar.
