Several incidents ranging from nurses not reading charts, not following medical recommendations from hospice nurses, neglect ranging from fall to leaving him covered in feces. , no compassion even at time of death. Waiting up to 39 minutes for medicine. Leaving his orders as PRN, as needed, despite the fact that he could not physically ring a buzzer to request anything. Niagara Hospice shouldn't even be affiliated it with this horrible facility. Do not put your loved ones here.
Except for a very few caring individuals. It is absolutely horrible.
My son went here to get help because he thought he might have lead poisoning from work. They looked at him like he was crazy. They put him in a room for hours and did nothing. Then they told him to go to the workers comp department and when he went there they told him that they don’t see people unless their work sends them there and he the hospital already discharged him. He went to urgent care and was diagnosed with pneumonia

Friendly people, informative. Basement is easy to get lost in and end up in nursing home if you use the wrong elevator. Signage would be helpful. Otherwise had x-rays, hernia surgery and was treated very well.
My mom was there for less than two weeks after surgery next door at NFMMC, to get up and walking physical therapy. She fell a few times, and was even crawling down the hall when they saw her. She acquired an infection from neglect of care , lack of training, communication and/or lack of knowledge of equipment for her needs. She went back to the ER, w/ this infection, then back to ICU for a few weeks and died. This infection 100% added pain and suffering, and contributed to her passing. This place needs to be held to account. Sad and heartbroken. Please, please beware of the care at this place from the top down.
My mom was there for just over a week at the beginning of June, to get pt and get walking after surgery at NFMMC, and she acquired an infection here.They neglected her, didn’t care, weren't trained properly or whatever but she was in pain and she went back to ICU for over two weeks and died. This infection caused by their poor care and neglect is 100% a contributor to her death. Do NOT send your loved ones here. I have heard of another patient sent back to ICU from here in the same timeframe w/ a similar infection. This place should be investigated. Sad that my Mom and other people suffer and NO one does anything or cares.
Excellent Activities Director and Staff
I see that all the five star reviews are from 5-6 years ago. Not surprising. This place is absolutely horrific. My mother was a resident here for 2.5 months before she passed away in December 2022. Don't ever place your loved one here (if you can help it). I unfortunately had no choice and it haunts me every day. The "health care" staff and administration are completely worthless/useless. Not to mention rude and condescending. Explore all other options...you'll regret it if you don't.
