I toured Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield. I was very impressed with the facility and the people there. I was looking at the patio homes, which were very nice. I knew somebody that used to stay there, and they were very happy when they were there. In one house, I saw the individual bring her appliances for whatever reason, but the other I saw had appliances that looked all modern and brand new. I looked at the other facilities, and size-wise, the pricing was higher than I expected. The staff was good.

We moved my mom into Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield. That's the place we like. It's very clean and well taken care of. The room is very well kept up. Everything is spot on. Everybody is very open, and welcoming. They've been wonderful so far. The staff is wonderful. They're very caring, very friendly, observant, and attentive. They have transportation to and from on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to the local stores and for shopping. On those days, too, they offer shuttling for doctor visits. They get breakfast and dinner. They have a workout room, a salon, and an activity room. They…

And for an additional cost, they do trips to the casino and Shea's and stuff like that. The food has been very good so far, too. They have meals that are to her satisfaction.

We are keeping my mom at Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield. The thing that I like the best about that place is that it's close to our home. It's convenient for us to be able to go and take care of her. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They answer questions. However, they do not provide meals. They have bingo, and they have picnics on holidays. You can bring your pet. They have little pet things. It is pretty much independent. My mom has to pay for everything, so she's been doing her own stuff. The one thing they do have is security and cleaning. They come clean the apartment, but they…

They come clean the apartment, but they don't have to do any of the lawn care. Everything else is on her own. I feel like it is too expensive for what they get. It is good there, but it's way too expensive. My mom has been there for over 10 years now.

I went to Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield a year and a half ago. They were great, very helpful and showed me around. Everything looked very nice, and I was able to talk to some people. I was looking particularly at a private apartment type situation there. The people were very accommodating. The residents seemed to be in good spirits, and they seemed well dressed and groomed. The folks that I talked to basically needed assistance, but were pretty capable. They were very nice. They all introduced me to a cat.

They did a great job managing all the questions and also figuring out the right funding algorithm for my loved one to be there. They made it very simple to move in. And I gave them some challenges. My mother loves it now. She was very against it before moving in, and she had a really difficult time adjusting. But now she's very interested and enjoying herself. Shel likes the layout of her apartment, and she has a patio she enjoys. She also likes the large bathrooms. They come and clean on Thursdays, and she thinks that's amazing . It's just very quiet and comfortable and safe. And that's taken a big load off of her mind.

At 100 yrs old my mom entered the Elderwood Senior apt. I never would have thought she would be happy after leaving her home of 60yrs. I was pleasantly surprised as she made friends, attended activities including physical fitness classes twice a week. She could get her hair done every week, attend church on Sundays, enjoy breakfast and supper with her friends nightly. Her apartment was hers. The furniture, pictures on the wall, and all the memories collected over a century. The staff was friendly but more importantly, they were compassionate. When the Lord took mom at 101 [date removed] , the staff was wonderful. They were visibly effected and I noticed. Thank you Elderwood Wheatfield. God Bless you!

Mom lived in her own apartment for almost 4 1/2 years. She was blessed to have lived in a community where she was treated and cared for like family from the very first day! Everyone from administration (Tammy and Nicole) to the front desk, cleaning, dining, activities, and maintenance staff is absolutely wonderful! Their caring and concern for her wellbeing, as well as the other residents, is evident on a daily basis. Mom enjoyed the friendship of her fellow residents as well as the commraderie of the Elderwood staff. Getting her hair done weekly was a necessity and she enjoyed attending the various activities offered, with music being her most favorite. Our family highly recommends Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield!

The rooms are beautiful. Housekeeping cleans the rooms every week. The staff is engaging and delightful. The food is excellent, better than some restaurants I have eaten at. There is breakfast, lunch, and dinner available. There are two dinner choices, two desserts choices, and soup or salad. If you do not like either dinner choice there is a side menu you may choose from. Every Friday is happy hour which includes a food buffet and white or red wine. If you choose to eat in your apartment, the staff will delivery your meal to your room. The entertainment is excellent and engaging. Donna who is the Activity Director is amazing. There are many different activities the residents can participate in. The facility has a pool table and exercise room and many residents enjoy the Tia Chi class.
