The rehab department at this facility is absolutely incredible. You can tell they genuinely care about every single patient and go above and beyond to provide individualized care, talking to the patients and families always involving full interdisciplinary teams in all decisions. They’re always looking for new technology and innovative ways to stay at the forefront of rehabilitation and deliver the best possible outcomes. A special shoutout to Karol, the Rehab Director, for fostering such a dedicated, forward-thinking team! A special shoutout to Karol, the Rehab Director. The strength of a…

On June 9th, two friends and I visited our high school friend, Barbara Higgins at ArchCare at Providence Rest Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. My one friend and I were high school classmates of Barbara (having graduated in 1961) and the other visitor was our high school Chemistry teacher who is in her early nineties. We had a delightful visit with Barbara who has an incredibly brilliant mind but whose physical body is seriously incapacitated. After our visit we wanted to take a picture of the four of us to send to our high school alumnae newspaper. I went out into the hall and saw a staff member doing something at the entrance to another room. I asked her if she could take a photo for us after she finished what she was doing. She came over immediately with a smile and took two pictures. She then came over to Barbara and asked her to sit up straight, fixed her blouse, and then her hair - she then took 4 more pictures. In the first two photos, Barbara looked like a lump and in the last four, like the vibrant, cheerful person she is. This person's name, I later learned, is Barbara Newman. On our way out of the facility, we all commented on how clean and neat the facility is. I also noticed a rehab therapist working with another person who had obvious memory issues - the patience, kindness, and direction of this rehab therapist was inspirational. Having cared for my mother (heart condition), father (who had a serious stroke and was essentially a two year old, albeit a pleasant one), and a bipolar aunt who could be very difficult, I have had experiences in many rehab facilities and make my comment out of abundant experience. The three of us were so happy to know that our friend, Barbara Higgins, is in such a caring place.

Yesterday I went to go see my grandfather for fathers day at 3C and I and so devastated. My grandfather isnt being taken cared of. The place was dirty. My grandfather looks like he hasn't been moved in 2 days. He was so sad and he didn't even want to talk to me. This place is horrible, they only have 2 aides for 40 patients, whos gonna look after my grandfather? I will be filing a complaint to architects! This needs to be reported to the state!

I was told multiple times when I called that I needed to get a PRI done first in order for them to even see if they had a room available for my grandmother (I told them multiple times this is for long term care). So obviously I did this (paid $350), when I went to fax the documents over, I noticed the number kept failing that they provided me with. When I called back to inform them my fax is not going through, Veronica told me there is no long-term care available. Why would the staff not just tell me this to begin with when I called??? I have wasted two weeks plus scheduling an at home PRI for them to easily just tell me sorry no availability, it makes NO SENSE! and the only response I received from Veronica was that she has been out of the office and just retuned- But the other staff members that are answering the phone in admissions did NOT tell me this. Start being straight up with people when it comes to admissions!! Especially for a family member that just lost their loved one and is trying to seek help.

The staff was phenomenal. The services received were great.

Excellent care. Physical therapy under Karen was excellent. Social services with Rosemarie very professional. Nursing very good.

Beautiful place. Excellent staff. Awesome views of water by the sea.

1-the 4th and 2nd floor reek of urine as you exit elevator doors..2-patients are left unattended for a long period of time; even after ringing buzzer switch by bed..3-the meals ALL arrive an hour late after dining room has finished. I have provided lunch and dinner for my mom for the 3 consecutive weekesof her stay..you ask a person for help they say I don’t do that but I’ll get someone for you.And they never show….4-Although you have posters and flyers in the elevator stating a high influenza rate and Covid ABSOLUTELY no one who works with a patient directly is wearing gloves and face mask with the exception of Physical Therapy Staff. How are you protecting senior care with patients??5-My mom has had the same linen bed sheets on her bed since her arrival Dec15th of 2025 hence we are on week 3 Lastly the food here is horrible NYC school kids get a better meal tray than here at Providence Rest…
