My mom entered The Promenade last week. I would like to thank Beth and all the staff for working with us and helping with the transition. Everyone has been super friendly and have done an excellent job making her feel welcome . Dan S.
The staff at the University atAlbany Primenade is very attentive to my mother.
Place is fantastic stuff is friendly and courteous and the director is fantastic she's understanding and gets the job done I've lived at the place for 4 years now it's the best it's ever been and I know it's going to get better
I am a caregiver with a client here. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. All staff. I have asked for some maintenance to be done and within a very short time it is resolved. I enjoy coming here to be with my client.
We have been trying to get our family member in and Beth has been TERRIBLE to work with. No calls or emails back. I would look elsewhere because trying to get into this place is near impossible.
Probably one of the worst places in the district. The aides are kind, but administration is terrible. Beth is passive aggressive and unprofessional in so many ways. If you have sole authority and decision making over your loved one she doesn’t care and goes against that over your head and will go directly to your loved one with serious decision making that you have the end decision on to stress them out on purpose. Personally I don’t think she knows the first thing about health care or if she ever worked with the elderly. Be cautious.
The staff has a lot of turnover and a lot of incompetence. The administration is noncommunicative and secretive. We've caught them in lies. The day before I went to Florida to bring my mother up to assisted living in NY my husband and I signed the paperwork. At that time (and not ever before) they informed us of resident deaths from legionaires disease a few years prior. I discovered they were overcharging my mother for months last fall. The health office is VERY unorganized. The med techs made several mistakes. The in house PCP phones it in, so we're moving my mother to an outside provider. My mother had cash stolen from her room by staff last fall. They had bed bugs in the facility a couple of months ago, but lied to residents and families about it.
Promenade at University Place was a horrible place. All they asked me was how much money I had and how much money I could spend. I think they had 10 or 12 open beds, and I asked the staff why, and she said, 'Well, we're just new here.' It was a hotel they converted. The rooms were big, but it seemed the care was lacking. There was a woman eating ice cream with a plastic fork and she couldn't get the ice cream, but nobody was helping her. And the residents just looked disheveled. The woman who took us on the tour didn't seem interested at all in any of the residents. I did not have a good feeling. What they did for the people is that they brought them out and let them sit and watch cars drive by for entertainment. And they were quite expensive. They charge you per day, and they had a $4,500 initial fee that was nonrefundable. It just seemed all about the money and not about good care. And then the staff made it very clear that if they were not able to take care of them, we had 30 days to put them in a nursing home. I didn't care for her presentation, and I did not care for the place. It was just the memory care we looked at, but they had assisted living, and those people were smoking all around the entrance and it wasn't a good feel.
