My father was at Morningside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It was a terrible facility, and I would not recommend it. There was a constant lack of care. There was a lack of communication within the facility. There was a lack of follow-up when a family member reached out to the staff. You just don't hear back from them. On many occasions when I've gone to the facility to see my dad, there was no one there helping him. My family members and I had found him disheveled. In a nutshell, we would not recommend the facility whatsoever. They recently had a facelift, so appearance-wise, it looked…

In a nutshell, we would not recommend the facility whatsoever. They recently had a facelift, so appearance-wise, it looked well put together. As far as the actual service, the skilled nursing, and the caring there, it was horrendous. My dad has not been a fan of their food. And I had not witnessed him do any activities.
My mother is in this nursing home short term. I've never visited a nursing home but I've always imagine one that works with elderly people would be compassionate. After all, thats why they are in there because they can't do for themselves really. My experience from having my mother there. First, some of the staff just sit around. I literally watched my mom press the bed side button to call for assistance and it's not until a half hour or an hour later that they arrive at the room. Although, you will get the one or two nurses that are nice but most are there to just get paid. Second, the…

I literally watched my mom press the bed side button to call for assistance and it's not until a half hour or an hour later that they arrive at the room. Although, you will get the one or two nurses that are nice but most are there to just get paid. Second, the nurses that change their diapers sometimes literally just have them sit there and wait for about half hour after being told that their diapers need changing. Although, you get the few that check up on them and ask if they are OK. But most, they are there to get paid. Third, the food, they don't get much options. You would assume that there would be a menu. Some elderly's need special diets. There isn't many options, nor is there a nutritionist. Fourth, not much supervision in the rooms. I seen my mothers neighbor take herself off the bed and walk herself to the bathroom when she is wheel chair bound. I think a new structure of policies should take place and more employee supervision because clearly the elderly are not cared for as they should be.
It started out okay. The staff are overwhelmed and not attentive to their patients. Some of the staff are very nice and caring but you always have a few bad apples. The so call doctor's are not caring and do not return phone calls like they should. You have family memberswho are concerned about their parents and expect a phone call back. I received a call stating my mom had fell during PT. When I get to the rehab it was a different story. Will I refer anyone to this business I don't think so.
This is the worst place in the world please don’t send your worst enemy here used to be the best place now it’s the worst my mother fell 3 times in the a.m. and then they tried to stop us from getting out also the social worker went to my mother and intimidated her before the state investigator got there as to change her story The social workers name is Mary
The staff are rude and the rooms are run down. Patients are walking into othèr patients room.
I was very upset when I went to visit my grandmother and learning that she was placed on the wrong floor. She was temporarily stationed on the rehabilitation floor. When she is there with Alzheimer's and should be on the floor with nurses monitoring them 24/7. The afternoon staff were not aware what she was in for and when we arrived she was walking around crying and no one was able to understand what she was saying because they didn't speak her language, spanish. We explained to them that she cannot be roaming around unsupervised because she has Alzheimer's and will not remember where her room is and she will honestly try to leave. They then asked me "why isn't she on the Alzheimer's floor?". They didn't even know she wasn't there for rehab. The fact that the first shift did not pass this on to the following shift is horrible this place is disorganized and unsafe for my grandmother. The supervisor refused to come meet with us face to face and was telling the nurse that her spot isn't yet ready. Why did they accept my grandmother mother then? Why isn't she being supervised accordingly? Why didn't any of the staff on that shift know who she was or why she was there? Why didn't they assign someone to watch over her until her room on the correct floor was ready? The second day visiting her room on the Alzheimer's floor still was not ready and she still wasn't assigned a person to monitor her. Her room's layout is unsafe for her. The bed was too high and she could not climb back in after managing to get off on her own. I truly hope that when she does get her room on the Alzheimer's floor that they tend to her the way she needs to be. Until then I give this place zero stars and do not recommend to anyone.
We just had our mother there for a short term stay, the newly renovated unit was amazing, staff was kind and caring and always willing to help with whatever we needed. The food when it was good was really good according to my mother but she did have 1 or 2 items she didn't like. Physical therapy took amazing care of her and got her home in better shape than what she was in before she went to the hospital.
