4.1 · 93 reviewsMy Mom has been a resident of the Memory Garden of Elderwood Village at Colonie for about 18 months. She has received excellent care there, and the staff has always been kind, she always says the food is good, and the facility is very clean. The Director is very competent, involved and responsive. Mom is as happy there as anyone can be when they are faced with no longer being able to live alone. I am thankful for their daily efforts.
My mom is a resident here in the memory care unit of Elderwood and I could not ask for a better place for her. The staff are incredibly loving and caring. I highly recommend Elderwood Village
I would not recommend this facility even to my worst enemy. My mother was there and experiencing a stroke. Nedra the so called nurse waited 4 hrs to call an ambulance. She never fully recovered from that stroke. We then moved her to a wonderful facility in Guilderland. Please do not send a loved one to Elderwood in Latham

The staff has been really great. I am an hour and a half from them. I only go there a few times a month. I did have issues a couple times with them signing off that they were showering him and that didn't happen as often as it should. I did address that promptly
I would recommend Elderwood to others. So far, we have been pleased with the care and the responsiveness of the staff. Our friend seems content there.
I would say 5 for everything but food and activities. For those I would rate 4. The activities director at the time did not reach out to my mom when she first moved in so she did not know when things were happening. But other than that the activities were great. The food was very good but sometimes inconsistent with quality. The facility is very clean and well-maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and caring. They went above and beyond to support my mom while she was in transition to death. Most assisted living places will not take hospice patients but Elderwood does which is very helpful. The only caveat is that the family must also help.
Excellent experience. Elderwood has such a warm family feel.
