I dont even know where to start ... my 75 yr old mom who had brain surgery went here for the last part of rehab after her acute rehab at strong..... wow. The staff were extremely nice during the day shift, however they sorely lacked the adequate amount of staff for all the patients. Often times the call bell would take a half hour to answer. Some huge huge huge downfalls: my mom fell the first and second night there snd the staff didn't alert me until well into the next day. Some huge huge huge downfalls: my mom fell the first and second night there snd the staff didn't alert me until well into the next day. One of the falls was because they gave her her sleep time medicine while she was still in a chair and she hallucinated!!!!! The 3rd fall someone didn't put her bed low as per her health plan AND LEFT HER WALKER OPEN WITHIN HER REACH!!!!!!! When i called up there the phpne was ringing for over 10 minutes and i had to call a different dloor just to get somwone to go up a floor and check on mom. And she had fallen.the rehab therapist people were nice for sure, but this place is way understaffed to the point its extremely unsafe. I had to go up daily for about 6 to 8 hours just to make sure my mom was taken care of. Mom is now safely home and thriving. While at elderwood, I brought up a lot of concerns, and I put in two grievance paperwork, and nothing was ever done about anything..... Update: 1 week later, and we still do not have any referrals for any agencies to get physical therapy or occupational therapy for my mom. Thank god that I got a lot of training. While mom was at strong hospital and they've showed me a lot of what to do with physical therapy and occupational therapy, And speech and I also have a bachelor's degree. And i'm a very smart human being, and I love my mom.So all those things together.I've been her only therapist for the past week. It's been a lot of back and forth, and all the agencies said that elderwood has never sent them anything.... everyone do yourself a favor do not sign your loved one to elderwood. It's not worth it

Do not ever go to Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport Rehab. My elderly, invalid father has had to wait over 2 hours to get an aid to help him get to the rest room. His room hasn't been cleaned since he got there almost 3 weeks ago. They don't change dirty sheets while you're there even if there's blood on them. They use folded up blankets instead of bed pads and they put more absorbent briefs on residents so they don't have to change them during the night. During the day they leave residents sitting in wheelchairs in the dining room for hours so they can "watch" them. People in prison get…

I will say that the therapy is great but I will never recommend this place if it's the only place with an available room.

I strongly caution anyone considering this facility for long-term care. If you do **not** have a family member who can stay constantly involved, closely monitor care, and aggressively advocate, your loved one will be in serious trouble. This facility is **severely understaffed on a regular basis**. When staffing concerns are raised, families are repeatedly given the same explanations and excuses, yet nothing changes. The lack of adequate staff directly impacts the quality and safety of resident care. There are **serious systemic issues from upper management down**, and it shows in daily operations, communication, and follow-through. This is not a place where residents receive consistent, attentive, or proactive care without constant outside oversight. Long-term care should never require families to be on high alert at all times.

My 96 year old grandmother has been to 3 different rehab facilities in Monroe County in the last 2 years for different reasons. She was recently admitted to Elderwood @ Brockport after a long hospital visit. The staff has been absolutely wonderful, caring and attentive. This has been the best facility we have experienced and I am so happy she is in such good care. While there may be many negative reviews, I can say from experience that all facilities are understaffed, that has been our experience as well. However, the staff makes all the difference and we are very pleased so far.

Refused to give my father in law meds left him sitting in a diaper. He stayed two days and we brought him home because of subpar care. If you ask him he'll say if you're ready to do go there because there patient care is horrible

Do Not i repeat Do Not send your loves ones to this place. Sent my dad there for rehab. Lets just say i took him out on day 2. No help to bathroom. Left him with a dirty diaper overnight. It wasnt worth it. I understand help is an issue but come on.

Do not go here for rehab. They are understaffed and because of this the staff they have have an attitude. You buzz for assistance to the bathroom and you wait for half an hour to 45 min. Night nurse is rude and slow. Nedications are not given on timely manner. Two nurses per floor. Nothing good to say about the place. The PT and OT I received was adequate. Went home for the remainder of rehab but they were delayed in setting up my home care also. Do not go here with your loved one. They always seem to have an opening cause of their poor care.

Terrible service and rude workers
