My aunt was not allowed rehab because she could walk 6 week in a walker so I called Elderwood to let them know as they were waiting for her. There were no rooms available but they were able to quickly accommodate her by setting up a room for the next morning. This was Nov 25 and she was placed in STCU which was a tad dated. 2 weeks ago she got onto the 2nd floor and her room is beautiful, very clean, everyone is so helpful. Tuesday my friend and I brought her blankets which they label for her and cheesecake. I have hospice going in regularly and they call me after each visit and work closely…

I have hospice going in regularly and they call me after each visit and work closely with the facilities physician who make recommendations with each other. So far I have had nothing but a good experience with them.

This facility has been neglecting care for my loved ones for years, i have had multiple family members sent here for help or recovery only to be met with worse conditions and neglect.

Happy to see the local news exposed their non-existent care & neglect to the residents. Administration is horrible and place should be shutdown.

We placed my mother in Elderwood nursing home, expecting proper care, but experienced consistent issues over eight months. I went everday for 8 months. The food was subpar, unappetizing, tasteless cold and often inedible, leading to choking incidents on bones and paper which led to bringing outside food. I cut the fish out on Fridays do to choking on bone so we would often get whatever they threw on plate, one time it was a cup of mayo and hand full of shredded cheese, mom frequently suffered from dehydration. I would keep drinks in rm and soon as I came in she would drink 5 6 or 7 drinks in 1 shot. There was a lack of communication and rudeness, neglect among staff, treatments or requests would often went undocumented or not read by next shift, residents would wait for hrs to be changed, Personal items were frequently lost glasses that usually found in other rms or under bed dining rm. Other residents heads, blankets. Everything is marked with name, never knew what u where going to walk into day by day, clean or unclean, times I had to clean poop off my moms bedside wall, blankets, bed, mom would be sitting in throw up and u would ask, noone knows nothing, all u get is well she was fine earlier, same answers everytime for me and other resident family members I had to intervene to ensure my mom received necessary medical attention, despite staff resistance, which sometimes led to hospitalizations. returned from a short vaca which I hesitated doing so found mom in poor health, exhibiting symptoms like lethargy, pain, fever and severe dehydration. with my insistence and concerns about sepsis, the nursing home staff initially downplayed the issues and delayed proper medical attention. with my insistence of medical attention to go to hospital mother was diagnosed with COVID-19 and sepsis at the hospital and passed away three nights later. I also discovered that the nursing home had not disclosed a COVID-19 on the floor, despite the presence of visitors and staff moving between rooms. When i asked about the covid it was denied until I confronted about a resident with it, well she said he never comes out of his rm then nurse rolled her eyes walked off, typical attitude, Family needs to be vigilance and advocate in there due to inconsistent care quality and high staff turnover. Get to know the staff and who u can and cant count on. with short staffed the "good"cnas rns lpns can only do so much, Front reception very friendly,

Management has a greater responsibility to find staffing and to have proper staffing at all times, including holiday times when people tend to call in sick residents suffer for this for hours they can't get changed. Unbelievable. This is a management thing

It was fine at first and we understand how understaffed everyone but the care my family member was getting and being treated was horrible and he got a cut in his foot then it got infected and they wrapped it and didn't clean it for a week

This place is absolutely DISGUSTING! They forgot cleaning is a requirement. The residents are treated poorly. Memory care facility, BULL! Yeah that’s a joke! Anyways if you love your loved one and they need care, DO NOT PUT THEM HERE! Believe the negative reviews! And do not reach out, because I don’t care about giving you any feedback or anything. This place just needs to be shutdown! Cause the price they are charging people for non existent care is outrageous!

Mom stayed at Maelou for 5 weeks of rehab. Rehab technicians were wonderful. Well organized and attentive. The on hand nurses were also fantastic. The nursing management was distant and poorly organized. The administration was terrible. Keep both hands on your wallet and review your bills carefully.
