I wouldn't trust anything having to do with the Eddy to watch a rat, let alone a human in need! I asked for help from the Eddy when both of my parents had cancer at the same time, and I was in the beginning of my epilepsy health issues. Biggest mistake of my life. They slowly moved in, started taking control over my father who had the metal capacity of someone in grade school. They convinced my father to give them control after my mother's death, they told him if he stayed with me and let me control his money instead of them, they would no longer see him, he would no longer be able to go to…
I wouldn't trust anything having to do with the Eddy to watch a rat, let alone a human in need! I asked for help from the Eddy when both of my parents had cancer at the same time, and I was in the beginning of my epilepsy health issues. Biggest mistake of my life. They slowly moved in, started taking control over my father who had the metal capacity of someone in grade school. They convinced my father to give them control after my mother's death, they told him if he stayed with me and let me control his money instead of them, they would no longer see him, he would no longer be able to go to their daycare. After my father started crying I stood back and let him go. I moved away and they felt nobody would be watching them. His money started going missing, they tried to accuse me when they had control over his money not me, they wrote checks, and used his card at atms. Fast forward to 2024, they told my father signing a dnr would mean he'd get more help in his apt so he could stay home, they put him in a nursing home I fought for weeks to get him out of because they told me they'd fight me. His nurse Cheryl Ashley, and social worker nicole rapkowitz told me they felt it was for the best and they wouldn't let me take my father. Every day I heard my father say they told him to sign because they said it was to get more help, he kept telling me he didn't want to die and it was hard to explain they made him sign something that would mean the doctors wouldn't try to bring him back. These people will take control of your sick family member and you will find yourself fighting to get them away in the end.
Great place for your family members Temp. Or permanently.
Do not believe Misty Doe's review. It is completely false. My mother was at this facility for four years and passed away in November of 2025 due to the complete and utter negligence of the staff not watching her. She had taken multiple falls while at this facility and this final fall finally ended her life. They do not carry devices so they can see when a patient buzzes for a nurse. We would wait over 30 plus minutes after pressing the call button for anyone to show up. More often than not we would have to hunt someone down. She had taken multiple falls while at this facility and this final fall finally ended her life. They do not carry devices so they can see when a patient buzzes for a nurse. We would wait over 30 plus minutes after pressing the call button for anyone to show up. More often than not we would have to hunt someone down. The facility is filthy and the rooms are run down and very dirty. We kept clorox wipes and a swiffer there to clean the floors. They lost my mother’s upper and lower dentures and her hearing aides a multitude of times. The care was horrible. It was a complete nightmare from day one. They let the patients sit in diapers that are soaked from the night before and unless they have a loved one visiting them it does not get changed. Do not put your loved one in this facility. I had tried to get my mother into a different facility while she was at the Eddy but it was difficult with her Alzheimer's disease. There are better options out there.
Working as an RN supervisor on 3-11 shift here, you will be expected to pass medications on the sub acute unit, if there is a call out or a no show. That happens frequently because of the daily use of agency staff, especially on evening shift. I liked it there, liked the staff, but became legitimately concerned about making errors, with the enormous amount of responsibilities there are giving out medication, narcotics etc, and being supervisor as well.. passing meds while supervising AND admissions re-admissions, sending residents to the hospital, assessing falls and other emergencies. Not to mention helping answer call lights, addressing family concerns. Searching for supplies. Helping and guiding the LPN’s and the CNA’s. That’s the sign of the times in LTC, I was told. Supervisor plus passing out medications. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes the entire shift. Love the residents..they get 5 stars in my book ! I miss them, they deserve loving care. With staff shortage, and lack of consistency, communication, etc.. we should all wonder what our future may be like, as we ourselves age
This is the rehab you’re looking for. Beautiful, clean, huge rooms, great staffing, sunshine & loving care. Activities are very engaging. Yesterday was manicure day with smiles everywhere! The ladies nails looked so lovely 💅. CNAs carry pagers for when a resident pushes a call light. It’s peaceful without bells alarming. Dining seated like out at a nice restaurant without the trays. They’re served by staff all together. It’s a very Home-Like environment. Safety & Quality of Life is the Priority at this nursing and rehabilitation facility.
Do NOT put your loved one in this facility. My mother has been there two years. The care is beyond horrible. They cannot keep staff. The aides sit in the common areas in their phones. If the call light is pressed in the residents room they never answer it. The rooms are filthy. I was there two days ago and my shoes kept sticking to the floor. I had to use Clorox wipes to clean the floor and I was told there is no housekeeping on weekends. It’s filthy during the week as well. It was about noon when my mother’s roommate daughter came to visit and discovered that her mother was soaking wet in urine. No one bothered to change her since the night before.
My neighbor was placed in the Eddy due to early onset dementia. It was a horrible facility. There was not enough staff to properly take care of the residents. She was not cleaned on a regular basis and there were no services to assist her condition. Watching the commercials on TV is sickening. The facility is nothing like what is being advertised. I withdraw strongly recommend relatives look at other better run facilities for their loved ones.
Terrible, wouldn't recommend to anyone . My husband's grandmother has fallen 3x now and nobody ever shows up to her help light, til much later if at all. She has fractured her hip, her arm, and her thigh falling ...on several different occasions. Please do your loved ones a favor, and find elsewhere to place them.
