Staff are condescending.
Overall, my mom is safe and well cared for. They are on top of her meds. Her room is cleaned often and they do the laundry multiple times per week. She is always clean and put together. She gets her hair done there and her nails. She is encouraged to participate in activities. They made a special effort to match her with other residents with common backgrounds and at the same level as my mom. She has found her people. The food is not great, fluctuating between good and "yuck" as my mom puts it. The facility is on the high end expense wise, so I expected a higher level of activities, food, and…

The food is not great, fluctuating between good and "yuck" as my mom puts it. The facility is on the high end expense wise, so I expected a higher level of activities, food, and options for engagement. The staff are lovely, caring and compassionate. That's a 5. The program director [name removed] is an angel. The med staff is great. In my mind they fall a little short on meaningful engagement of the residents and cater to the lower functioning individuals leaving those who function at a higher level a little bored and unstimulated at times. And the food could use improvement.
My experience with Brookdale so far has been a very comfortable and warm experience, the staff answers my questions make necessary adjustments and always work to make me feel comfortable as they take care of my mom. They often say “thank you” to me for letting them care for my mom. They acknowledge that this is not an easy process for my mom and me as well. So far the experience has been good and I would tell anyone to check out Brookdale if they have to place a love one.
Very friendly. Medical staff is communicative. They have been successful in getting my mom out of her room and participate in the events!! Yah!! The room is a good size. We were able to buy her a recliner that fits great in the room with the furniture they provided. I am not real familiar with all the events, I know they have music ones which she loves. Just having her out of her room instead of sitting starring at the four walls is spectacular!!
I am pleased with Brookdale Williamsville and feel that my wife is enjoying a better quality of life than I could provide her at home. I appreciate the effort the staff is making to help us deal with the problems that Alzheimer’s creates.
We had a great experience with Brookdale & we are grateful for the assistance A Place for Mom provided. My mother in law passed away two years ago, but we do appreciate the recommendation for Brookdale! Brookdale was helpful, encouraging, & addressed any questions or concerns I may have had during her stay with them. We would highly recommend A Place for Mom & Brookdale!
Trash...smells like barn yard animals past the entrance....h.r. is a liar and I did onboarding which consisted of of 39 relias lessons in one sitting because they don't have enough computers to pull people of the floor to do inservices. They are refusing to pay me the two hundred dollars they owe me ...claiming that they did overnite shipping on my check that would have arrived in the a.m. now is eight o clock at night and no check ...stay far away from this place ...guess who's getting sued......trash trash and trash ...
Our father, who had dementia, stayed here for respite care during a family wedding several years ago. The staff didn't track his fluid intake, he was quickly admitted to the hospital, and we reported them to the State of New York. They investigated and put Brookdale on a remediation plan. My father never walked again and had to enter a full care nursing home.
