Can’t say enough great things about this community
We moved our mom into an apartment at Brookdale Summerfield and have been stunned by the compassion and kindness of ALL the staff. There are so many activities available for mom to join - everything from trips to the grocery store, restaurant field trips, to knitting. The library, dining room (with excellent menu options) and other general population areas are lovely and welcoming! If you are considering a location with your loved one, I recommend Brookdale Summerfield for your consideration. We took a tour and knew we had found mom’s new home.
It was wonderful and I would highly recommend Summerfield to anyone. It was my ex-husband that was living there and he has Parkinson's disease. The staff was exceptional in making every attempt to make him comfortable and happy. In addition the atmosphere was so positive and pleasant. Everyone, from the director to the kitchen staff were beyond kind and helpful and bent over backwards to be so. I always looked forward to my visits as much to see the people that worked there as my ex. Whoever does the hiring here has a knack for finding just the right people. I always looked forward to my visits as much to see the people that worked there as my ex. Whoever does the hiring here has a knack for finding just the right people. [name removed] has been in other facilities of different kinds and Summerfield was beyond compare. The facility itself was bright, clean and welcoming.
My 91-year-old mother moved here earlier this year, and she loves her apartment, along with the meals in the dining area and the many activities offered during the day. Her social schedule is busier than mine! The management does an excellent job communicating with families through a weekly e-mail newsletter, but they are also available to speak with you directly at any time. I have hired the aide service and they have been great in helping my mother. What I liked about the set-up is that you can use different levels of aide services, depending on the needs of your loved one. I would highly recommend Brookdale Summerfield!
The staff is outstanding. The facility is aging quickly. They are working on it but it's taking a long time. The food is so so. They have had a tough time keeping a cook. They always offer a hot dog or hamburger if you don't like what's on the menu. My parents don't need any care so that's why I rated the value as a 3.
I would tell others looking into Brookdale Summerfield to make sure to watch what is included in the price and what is "extra". We chose this facility because of the location and helpfulness of staff. I live in another state, so they had to keep me updated. I would recommend the facility to others.
Brookdale Summerfield was very nice. It was like a very nice hotel quality for everything that they had. The staff was extremely personable and gave me a guided tour. Every single person came by and said hello. There were friendly greetings throughout. The facility was immaculate. Everything was clean. The only thing that I saw that would be poor was the chairs in the dining hall. Some of its covers were coming off. They explained to me that when COVID hit, they had sprayed a cleaning fluid to sterilize them and it caused the furniture to come apart. They were in the process of replacing those chairs in the dining room. Other than that, everything was gorgeous and immaculate. Everything was very new and beautifully set in a nice location. Anyone who looked out of any of the rooms had a nice view. It was well set up.
My Aunt moved in there recently, & said she likes it so far. I Pray it stays that way. I do not know the place, but I know her, & she only deserves the best. Please take great care of her like you do everyone else. Thank you.
