My family member has been living at this facility for quite some time, long enough for our family to get to know the staff and become familiar with how the facility operates. Unfortunately, ever since the new administrator took over, the place seems to have been in complete disarray. Staff members seem to be dropping like flies, and every time I visit, it feels like there are new faces or someone else is suddenly gone. Some of my favorite faces and the loveliest familiar faces are gone. Some of the girls were there for years and they get new management and just leave? I have even overheard…
I have even overheard staff members openly expressing their own complaints and frustrations about the staffiny in the hallways. As a family member, the constant turnover is extremely concerning. It is difficult to feel comfortable leaving someone you love in a facility when the staff caring for them seems to be constantly changing. The other day, I came in and was surprised to see a security guard sitting at the front desk instead of one of the young ladies who normally works there. I was told this was due to understaffing. Even more concerning, I overheard that one of the security guards had unknowingly allowed a resident to leave the facility during the day and that the resident ended up falling. Hearing something like that only adds to my concerns about whether there is adequate staffing and supervision. My family member has expressed that she feels uncomfortable and unsafe with all of these changes, and I feel the same way. Residents deserve consistency and familiar staff members who know them, their routines, and their needs. To top it all off, Alyssa, the concierge, seemed to be one of the only people holding things together and was always a familiar and helpful face when I came in. I just got word that she is gone as well. What a shame. I truly hope these issues are addressed soon because families should be able to feel confident that their loved ones are in a safe, stable, and properly staffed environment. Berkshire, I hope you do better.
They are a really good facility. They take really good care of my Mom (who has suffered a stroke.) She is always clean. They get her out of bed everyday (dressed/in a wheelchair) to go outside to the court yard. When you ring the nurse bell they are there in 5min. (The court yard pic attached.)
The care was good the nursing staff was great! However some of the non- nursing staff didn't hesitate to use foul language in the hallways, very loudly. They talk extremely loud which is irritating and disrespectful, especially when vulgar language is used.
My sister Barbara has been in facility for 8 days now & she is so happy at Berkshire, the entire staff is amazing & they pay attention to her every need. Since she has been here I can see a big difference in her healing process. Thank you all for being so amazing!!!!!
Residents have various conditions, place can be very noisy at times. Assist calls tend to be lackadaisical. The rehab staff is very professional and caring. Overall there is room for improvement in the facility. Visitor parking is very difficult, few handicapped spaces close to enterance. My opinion only, Visit and see if it meets your standards before making any decisions.
I visited a friend and her family in hospice care. It seemed like a great place, and she was well cared for
