To clarify my original review — my concern was never about whether the facility partners with other organizations or whether my business qualified to participate. My concern was solely about the customer service experience I received while attempting TWICE to arrange a simple Mother’s Day flower donation for residents. My concern was solely about the customer service experience I received while attempting TWICE to arrange a simple Mother’s Day flower donation for residents. I called with genuine intentions to bring joy to the residents, yet the interaction I experienced over the phone felt dismissive, unwelcoming, and lacking compassion. So again, to clarify the issue was the lack of compassion and willingness to even take down my information to pass along. No one expects special treatment, but kindness and professionalism from a front desk representative go a long way, especially when someone is simply trying to do something thoughtful for elderly residents. At this point, I respectfully decline further contact regarding the matter. I only hope this feedback encourages more compassion toward future community members reaching out with positive intentions.
I am a local floral shop owner and recently called this facility twice hoping to arrange a Mother’s Day flower donation for the residents. Unfortunately, my experience over the phone was very disappointing. During my second call, the receptionist was dismissive and unwilling to even take my information to pass along to the director. I reached out simply to do something kind from the heart for the residents, so the response was disheartening. I would have expected a little more professionalism and willingness to help, especially regarding a gesture meant to bring joy to residents on Mother’s…

Because of the interaction, I ultimately decided not to move forward.
I would like to say that Violet and Jasmine was an excellent help to my dad today who is a new resident of the facility. They were very instrumental in helping me straighten out some medication confusion for my dad. It seems to me that they are a real asset to the team and excellent at problem solving expeditiously. Thank you Violet and Jasmine
Ashely was very helpful and she made sure she explained everything about the facility and very detailed. She made me feel so comfortable and was very professional definitely would go back to her and speak to her with any further questions. You can tell she loves what’s she does thanks Ashely again
I would like to show appreciation to Ashley. She was able to answer all of my concerns and showed her passion pertaining to care that my mother would receive. She was able to make us feel comfortable and safe with our decisions and made it feel like it was a family we would be joining.
When we first looked into Amber Court, we were shown a beautiful room and were interested in private pay for my father’s stay. They asked for his insurance information and Social Security number, which we provided right away. We were then rushed to have paperwork filled out by two providers. After completing everything, we were suddenly told that because my father had Medicaid, he couldn’t have a private room. This place needs to be looked into seriously. I can count on one hand the staff members who have consistently shown empathy and basic human decency. The rest is a joke. The turnover rate among the aides is extremely high, and office managers seem to quit every few months. Families are kept in the dark about almost everything case managers included. Even with us handling my father’s laundry ourselves, his clothing still went missing or was mixed up with other residents’ items. Each time we visited, he was often wearing someone else’s clothes. We frequently picked him up for weekends and holidays, and I’ve never once seen an aide with him during visits. Residents are left sitting in the lobby or dining area all day with no activities, games, or engagement at all. The financial department has also been a nightmare to deal with. Communication is almost impossible calls go unanswered, and when someone finally responds, all you get is the same “we’ll look into it and call you back” response that never leads to any resolution. My father is not even a resident anymore, yet we’re still receiving bills despite notifying both the case manager and the financial representative, Nellie, multiple times since July. November 5th bank charged for rent from Amber Court. Ridiculous! We even experienced a situation where my father fell and we were never informed that’s a serious safety concern. How many other instances had this happen and a family member not been informed? His long-term medications were changed without any notice to the family, which is completely unacceptable. To make things worse, he was moved from a room with a private bathroom to a shared bathroom simply because another resident didn’t like having a roommate all while paying nearly $3,000 a month. The only positive experience we had was with the afternoon front desk receptionist, who was always kind, remembered my father by name, and treated him with care. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing I can say about this facility. I don’t know where the positive reviews come from, but our experience has been deeply disappointing. I would not recommend Amber Court in the Bronx to anyone looking for a safe, respectful, or well-managed environment for their loved one.
Ms Lopez has been very accommodating with a tour of the facility and answered every question with detail. Her council has been exceptional. Amber Court is in great hands.
I found the facolity to be clean and organized. Everyone in the staff knew my mothers name, and interacted with her in a friendly manner. I was very impressed by this, it helps my mom a great deal.
