There are so many activities at Woodland Pond that there is something for everyone. These include yoga, memoir writing, games, or cultural events-- too many to name.

I wish I didn’t have to leave this review… The shocking truth is that the Health Center at Woodland Pond is a disaster, mostly because the leadership is incompetent, dismissive, and unprofessional. There are systemic communication and staffing issues which lead to the neglect of the residents, Most of the lower staff make an effort, but they are not supported or trained well enough by upper management. It is unbelievable that at this price point there should be these kinds of serious issues. Independent Living is the Golden Child of Woodland Pond, gets all the attention, and makes the most…

Independent Living is the Golden Child of Woodland Pond, gets all the attention, and makes the most money for them. It is unconscionable that the higher levels of care should be run so poorly. A brief tour will not reveal the dark side of this facility, but once your loved one is here, you’ll quickly understand the far reaching consequences of entrenched mis-management.

Woodland Pond at New Paltz was a really good community. The person I was visiting was at the moment in the health center because he had a stroke. Normally he was in independent living. He was quite satisfied with the care that he was getting. All the staff was really good, but my experience with the staff in the rehab place was really, really good. In independent living people have very good-sized, beautiful apartments. Everybody has a full apartment, at least one-bedroom with a full kitchen. The place is very well taken care of. The activities are very much driven by the residents. They're very flexible. If people want something, they get it. A lot of people do their own stuff. It's quite an active community. The value for the money is really good. The dining area is plenty big. It also has outdoor space for the warm weather. Sometimes they have barbecues outside, which is lovely.

the women at the concierge desk are unbelievablely rude and condisending.

Went here for finger prints(digital) Each one that was done was checked off as best I could do, but they never tried to get a better one, always went with what they got on the first try no matter how bad the print was. I was told that mine were barely legible and I have to go get them done elsewhere or wait 30 days or more for them to be able to be processed. This is what I was told by the job I'm going for that requored the prints AND the supervisor I spoke to over the phone for identogo(the company that sets up the fingerprints appointment at one of their locations). They said it isn't the first time they e had this happen or this complaint from this location.

My mother-in-law lives in Woodland Pond at New Paltz. She started in independent, and then she went through assisted, and she's been in skilled nursing and she's now in memory care. So I've seen the whole thing and she's been there for twelve years. The facilities are well maintained. They have good-sized rooms, they've got really good staff, they have lots of activities, and their food is good. It's a good value for money. I don't know what they charge today, but my mother-in-law got in there 12 years ago, paid a long-term care fee up front, and all her costs stayed the same, no matter what level of care she was in. So, they had a good program. The hardest thing is you can only get in there as independent living first. You cannot go straight into assisted living or memory care. In memory care, they have a beautiful garden and they have activities that are appropriate for memory care such as music and different things like that. In independent living, they have trips and the residents run the community activities. The food is high quality. They have a beautiful pool, a salon, outdoor gardening, and all sorts of things like that. They've got a coffee cafe, a post office, and a drug store in-house. It's like a community.

We've had a very positive xper ience with the staff and residents. We feel safe, cared for and grateful to be here.
