This is an exceptional skilled nursing facility with an amazing team of caring professionals. The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. The residents are treated with dignity and respect and the level of care is outstanding! I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe and caring place for their loved one.
Our neighbor went there for rehab. They got caught in a lie. They told his daughter he got PT 2 hours a couple days a week. He called them out on it. They were angry, knew he couldn't walk and lives alone...shoved him in a wheelchair and took him to the curb. Family had to help him get to the car. He's been home 2 1/2 weeks. No PT no services because doctor at the facility refuses to fill out the paperwork to discharge. Insurance won't pay for home aide or PT until this occurs. We have been told there is still a lawsuit from 2022 still pending for a similar situation. Getting ready to call…

We have been told there is still a lawsuit from 2022 still pending for a similar situation. Getting ready to call local media and a lawyer soon. The doctor/ facility just needs to do their job and discharge him. Right now neighbors and friends are helping him and the ambulance has been called a few times to assist with ambulatory needs as we aren't strong enough. I'm sure there are some nice people who work there but whoever kicks out an elderly man who doesn't stand for lying and a shady doctor who doesn't do their job is inexcusable. You know how the nursing home in Charlotte has been all over the news and social media? Would hate to see this facility next. You haven't just poked one bear/patient. You've poked an entire hive/neighborhood and family network. Just do the right thing.
Wedgewood Rehab provided a very positive experience for our family. When our loved one required rehab, the staff made the transition smooth and reassuring. The nursing team, aides, therapy department, and administration were professional, attentive, and responsive throughout the stay. We were particularly impressed with the level of care provided and the consistent communication from the team. Questions and concerns were addressed promptly, and the Administrator was always accessible and willing to assist when needed. Having experience with other rehab facilities in Monroe County, we found Wedgewood Rehab to be among the best. The staff demonstrate a genuine commitment to resident care, and the facility's location in the heart of Spencerport provides a very nice setting. We would highly recommend Wedgewood Rehab to anyone seeking short-term rehab services. It is a facility that stands out for its quality of care and dedicated staff.
The experience we had with our family member who came for rehab to Wedgewood Rehab is unbelievable. Really caring staff, good activities, lovely environment and good food. I'd highly recommend it!
Please do not ever send your family members or anyone you care about here. It is amazing to me that it hasn't been shut down. Very dilapidated & in desperate need of updates.
All as I see is people giving this place a low-grade. Well if you want a better place then spend more money. It's like buying a White Castle burger in a box and complaining it's not good... same thing with apartment complexes you see on the news people complaining that the plumbing is leaking this and that well they're also only paying $425 a month. If you don't want your plumbing to leak then pay $1,200 a month ! If you don't have the money for better places you should have saved your money instead of blowing them on vacations, cigarettes and casinos earlier in your life.... next time bring them to the Highlands in Brighton or someplace in Pittsford I guarantee you're going to have a different experience. You'll be able to clean a contact lens off your loved ones Fanny....
If you want your loved one taken care of professionally, stay away from Wedgewood. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. On the weekend, the staff was even worse and the facility was filthy. There was no accountability, not even with the head of the nurses , Cindy. They left my husband laying in bed the whole weekend when he was there, because the staff was too lazy to put him in a wheelchair. After his 3rd day there, he had a seizure, which the nurse argued with me about. She insisted it wasn't a seizure. It was and I called for an ambulance to get him out of there. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL HOLE. I reported them to the NYS Attorney General's office.
Very sad. This could be a good nursing home if the help would show up. The aids don't show up half the time, especially on the weekends. What can you expect, sadly the aids don't have much incentive to show up. To most it's just a paycheck. The aids have a very hard job and in my book are not appreciated. Shame on the owners of these facilities. Also, shame on the families that dump them there and only visit on holidays. These are our seniors that worked hard all their life to bring up their families and then are forgotten because they got old!
