NOT RECOMMENDED Unfortunately, Utica Rehabilitation is much like other rehab rehabilitation facilities. I’ve experienced in this area. They are grossly understaffed in the care department, but not in the administration. They seem to have a manager or supervisor four everything. NOT RECOMMENDED Unfortunately, Utica Rehabilitation is much like other rehab rehabilitation facilities. I’ve experienced in this area. They are grossly understaffed in the care department, but not in the administration. They seem to have a manager or supervisor four everything. Show as the patients are concerned everything runs in slow Mo. Older patients such as myself arrive with issues that they’ve had prior to the reason that they are here currently. They do not accommodate any existing pain or conditions the patient may have had from previous medical problems or surgery. I asked administration for hardcopies of several tests. They have taken at least 10 times. I have yet to receive a single one. I find many of the administrators to be all talk and no action. One very unnerving aspect of this facility is that critical medication expire every two weeks and need to be renewed. Sometimes it takes three or four days for them to get requested and approved by a doctor I’ve never seen. I had considerable pain while I was here in my pain. Medication was canceled on a Friday. Therefore, I want the entire weekend and two more days before they renewed the prescription. Also a medication for gout, which was the main reason I was here. As far as the aids and nurses go, some of them are good and some are bad. Some of them get downright cocky and sarcastic. Apparently they forget who’s paying their salary. Response to the call button is downright ridiculous. You may experience a wait time of an hour or more. Press the call button more than once and you’re going to get a person with an attitude who may have tacked on a little bit of extra wait time. As far as the food goes out of five rehab rehabilitation centers, I’ve been to, this is the worst. You can expect powdered scrambled eggs and oatmeal nearly 90% of the time for breakfast. Lunch is somewhat of a variety, both good and bad and supper is usually very lean, such as the baloney and cheese sandwich I recently had. Small amenities are of the lowest cost variety in many not to be found at all. They may or may not have orange juice, apple juice or grape juice. They may or may not have ice for any beverages that they do have. Soap, powders, shampoo, toothpaste, tissues, other such items are either rare or nonexistent. I would certainly NOT recommend this facility as my first choice. Possibly one of the last.

My name is Randy Lohnas and I was a patient there for 2 weeks after being in hospital for 1 month due to heart issues. I was on the second floor and the staff was AMAZING. They treated me with respect dignity and compassion. Great place and made some great friends. Second floor you are AWESOME. Especially Jake, Dominique, Ms. Queen V, Nicole, Anida, Stacey, Colleen, and physical therapy dept

My mother was on the rehabilitation unit recently and tells me how staff neglect her needs not once but many times ,There have been a few times I have came around and heard staff talking about residents the good staff always seem to leave so I can only imagine what they go through overall just very unorganized and unprofessional.

I AM A RESIDENT IN THE UTICA REHAB. ON THE 3RD FLOOR MY EXPERANCE WITH THE 3RD FLOOR STAFF IS EXCELLANT ESP. THE SERVICE I RECEIVE FROM JENNIFER SZCZENSNIAK SHE IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEED HER & EXPLAINS EVERYTHING TO YOU IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS,

My mother-in-law is in the Rehab center and has been receiving beyond excellent help. She has been in other places but they pale in comparison. The therapy department are rock stars and are working on getting her walking again. Thank you Lindsay, Christina, Janice, Tami and Mala. Also thank you to the staff on the 2nd floor especially Jake, Colleen and Stacey! The place has been beautifully renovated and the care is amazing!

My grandpa was here for some time and it was disgusting. He was treated terribly. Don’t send your loved ones here.

I have been in there for 8 months I have a lot of respect the nurses

They let their employees smoke inside of building!
