My family and I would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for the outstanding care they provided to my father during his stay. My father has leukemia and Alzheimer’s disease, so finding a facility that treats him with both professionalism and genuine compassion was incredibly important to us. From the moment he arrived, the staff made him feel safe, respected, and well cared for. Every nurse, aide, therapist, and team member we interacted with showed patience, kindness, and a true commitment to his well-being. The facility itself is exceptional. It is always clean, bright, open, and spacious, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for both residents and visiting family members. You can tell that great care is taken to maintain a high standard throughout the entire center. What stood out the most was the compassion and dignity with which they treated my father. Caring for someone with complex medical needs requires a special kind of dedication, and the team at Paramount at Somers exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you to the entire staff for your hard work, kindness, and unwavering support. Knowing that our loved one was in such capable and caring hands gave our family tremendous peace of mind. We are truly grateful and would highly recommend Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation & Nursing Center to anyone looking for exceptional rehabilitation and nursing care.
I had about a 3 and 1/2 weeks day at Paramount. The staff is very friendly I made plenty of friends with the staff. The ones that really stood out were Danielle, Glady, Stephanie, Eva or Evie I remember her name but they were all very nice They treated me very kind. If I had to go back I feel like I'd be going back to see friends that took care of me. Wonderful place.... Also a huge thank you to the PT team. Tom, ready, Zach definitely. All fantastic. A special thank you to my exiting nurse Sheila who I'm able to call from home and ask as if I press the call bell real need technology.
As a whole the facility is nice and clean in a modern up to date environment. I wasn't just a number but felt that I got personal individualized care with constant check ins. People who went above and beyond was My aide Nyobi as I wasn't in the best state when I got the news that I was in need of an amputation, but her upbeatness reached me and made me feel good about myself. My aides Gladys and Cruz as well care for me with such a smile and had my wants and needs taken care of without me even asking like a mind reader. My physical therapist Danielle had a special way of encouraging me…

My social worker Ariana was very communicative in walking me through the process of what's next which was such a big help.
Rather than a rehab place this facility should be labeled as a setback place. Ever since we got here there's been nothing but headaches and incompetence. I am actually currently at the facility trying to recover from hip replacement surgery and I did more physical therapy at the hospital then I have at this location. One of the reasons my wife and I picked this place was because it was close to the hospital, had single occupancy rooms and stated they can take care of all bariatric needs. Well let me tell you that is not the case. Starting the night I got here they had the wrong bed. Then they would not give me any of my pain meds, antibiotic, or baby aspirin to prevent clotting. That is even after the fact that everything was cleared with this facilities doctor and the head nurse. At 11:30 p.m. they had to do a skin evaluation which I get is standard procedure but really 11:30 at night when all I ever want to do is go to bed and try to deal with my pain because they won't give me my medication and then at 12:30 almost 15 minutes after I was falling asleep all the lights came on like it was the paparazzi so they can take a chart photo, something that seriously could have waited until the next morning. I will give credit where credit is due and say those things resolved the next day. Now currently I cannot get out of bed myself so I have an external catheter. I informed them at 10:30 in the morning that it had leaked and I was sitting in my own urine, although they stated they would get somebody right on that it was not resolved until 3:30 in the afternoon, yep 5 hours of sitting in my own urine with nothing that I could do about it. They also accidentally left me off Physical Therapy schedule on Sunday due to a Communications issue within their staff. Here it is Tuesday at 11:43 a.m. they don't have a bariatric Walker I need so I haven't been able to walk for 5 days because of their incompetence and walking is the most important thing I can do to heal properly according to my surgeon who is absolutely fuming that they are causing me a setback like this. We have a friend who is a nurse who has informed us that we should start documenting everything because this borders on neglect and abuse should be reported to the Board of Health. That's actually how bad it is here and I'm experiencing it right now in this moment every day I've been here so far which is my reason for the one star, which is more of a star then this facility deserves. If anyone at Paramount at Somers wants to come talk to me I'm freaking right here Follow up to the above. So after I had originally posted the review above the director of the facility came to talk to me about 45 minutes later. He barely apologized, try to write it off as a communication problem and then told me everything would be back on track he would leave me his number and I can contact him directly, which he never did. He did ask me if I would take my original post down and give them a second chance. Now I'm a reasonable Fair guy and I believe everyone is entitled to a second chance so I originally took my review down. My wife and I also learned that when it came time for my discharge, it turns out I was never fully admitted and somehow fell through the cracks so they had to finish my Administration process before they could do my discharge process . Speaking of the discharge process my wife and I had questions and they informed us it's all in the welcome packet, which we never got until they realized they never gave it to us. That's some communication problems if I've ever seen one Now I do want to give credit where credit is due and tell you that some of my care team was excellent. These folks include the following: from the physical therapy department Angela, Tom, and Victor. They were the biggest advocates for my healing and success. There's was also my daytime nurse Jodi, Nurses Aide Abraham, and over night nurse Kim. They all took excellent care of me but that doesn't change the fact all those experiences happened that were part of my original post and that's why I reposted.
My family’s experience at The Paramount was wonderful. From the start Jessica in Admissions was extremely kind and helpful at explaining the process to transfer my dad from the hospital. To the rest of the staff, rehab, nursing, thank you for everything you did for my father.
The best part of Paramount at Somers is a very kind & caring woman named Veronica Walker Dorah. She provides care to my sister, Beverly. Veronica always goes above & beyond. She makes the patient feel comfortable and cared for when she is on duty. Her smile & happy personality brightens the spirits of her patients. She anticipates their needs & provides them with kind and professional care. Everyone needs a Veronica.
The team here is organized, pays attention to detail, and has a structure in place to cover all facets for recovery.
My husband had a crazy accident leaving him incapacitated. After a series of hospitalizations and admissions to other rehab centers leaving him with horrific wounds we decided to bring him to the paramount at Somers. Cheri, the wound care nurse, not only treated his wounds but her compassion and care offered him the encouragement he deeply needed. After being in 6 different facilities I can confidently say she is heads above the rest. His whole medical team, especially Yolanda and Tracy have been nothing but amazing. As he heals they celebrate and fill him with hope. His wounds are healing beautifully and we are so very grateful.
