The staff is very friendly. The social work team is always willing to go up above and beyond The nursing staff always calls with details The dining room is very sunny and bright The food looks very good
i cannot say enough good things about my loved one's stay here for rehab. The team assigned to him was truly wonderful on every level..professional, kind and attentive. He grew strong enough to go home.
If I could give this place no reviews at all I would but had to give a one start just to leave a review they are nasty though and through they have rats ,bedbugs ,roaches and ants all over the place they treat they staff like they disposable after over working them. They expect the staff to not build relationships with the residents. The administration there doesn’t give out any bonuses because they use the left over money for trips. When the building is short staffed the supervisors nor the nurses like to help out. It’s times where residents lights are going off for hours due to it being so…

When the building is short staffed the supervisors nor the nurses like to help out. It’s times where residents lights are going off for hours due to it being so short staffed. It’s time where residents will be wet for a whole shift. The hurlbut is just a bad place to send a love one they don’t care about anyone it’s all about money with them. It’s residents that’s ending up with bed sores residents falling out of beds and wheelchairs because it’s nobody there to help
My Mom was there from March - July this year. I was very hesitant since the place is very old and run down in some areas, but it was the only option. The staff is amazing! Cannot say enough about how caring, patient and respectful they all were. My Mom could not stand on her leg and was in bed most of the time. Everyone made her feel comfortable and not embarrassed. The compassion they felt for her was amazing. Everyone chips in to care for the patience when short handed. All the nursing facilities are under staffed, but I was impressed with how they all covered for each other when possible. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star is due to the food, which wasn't always the greatest and the wait at times due to being short staffed. She had been in 2 other facilities in the past and both had the same 2 issues. The amazing staff is why I would recommend The Hurlbut.
My husband was in strong for a month and they wanted to send him to a nursing home. I had heard terrible things about nursing homes so that didn't seem to be an option. One day they told me that they had an opening in the Hurlbut on East Henrietta Road. I read the reviews and they were so terrible that I knew I didn't want him to go there. One of the social workers at strong told us to take a tour and then make up our minds. We did that and Nicole showed us around and was so good at what she did, that we thought it was a good idea to take him there. We haven't been sorry. He's been there for 5 months and I have found very few staff that didn't treat my husband well. the only problem we have is that he has glaucoma and is blind in one eye and can only see a spec in the other. and some of them don't seem to know how bad he is. He's wheelchair bound, is incontinent, has diabetes, and almost blind but he hasn't lost his sense of humor. this is a year later and if i knew then what i know now, i would give a zero if that was available AFTER THEY MOVED HIM TO A DIFFERENT HALL, the new people didn't seem to now what they were doing. they kept telling me they had a chart which i never saw. he was eventually put on hospice care which was great when they were there but when they weren't it was horrendous. he was completely blind and i asked if they were feeding him and they said yes, but when i came at lunch time, i only saw one person feed him one day. eventually he couldn't chew or swallow but they kept bringing trays of food and mashed pills which he couldn't swallow. he was on morphine that started at every 6 hrs. but went to 2 -3 hours as needed. for a couple weeks things went well but when his nurse returned from "vacation" she told daughter that he wasn't due a morphine until 8 :00pm. he had gotten his last one at 1:00 and was in pain. she argued and went ballistic and said she had his health care proxy "GIVE HIM HIS MORPHINE!"she gave it to him. the next day he was dead.
This place was a horrific place for my father. If you can go ANYWHERE else, go. The nurses never were up to date on meds or ANYTHING pertaining to my father’s care. I tried staying with him ALL day because no one changed him consistently or brought meds. I never felt SAFE with my dad’s care. Do not go here
Well let's just start by saying that I don't know about east Henrietta road but Penfield place is just as bad if not worse so in that case I would say stay away all together from the name it seems to be all the same and if you are out of pocket like my mom was at sixteen thousand a month the money won't be there for long. And since they take medical assistance you think the state would look at them for that price
It's a dump. Broken furniture and faucet in my mom's room. This was the only place we could get her into quickly for rehab. Most of the staff is nice, some have been short with her.
