I visited my friend last weekend at The Grand and I was SHOCKED to see NO ONE st the Nurses Station and the MEDICINE SUPPLY ROOM DOOR was Wide Open and not “1” Nurse/Aide was to be found. My friend is very pleased with the PT & In House Dialysis’ BUT everything else SUCKS and would not want a DOG st be admitted here. She waited 3 hrs for someone to bring her meds (unacceptable) and all she is told is “we are Short Staffed”. There are just a FEW aides who are very helpful but that’s all….some are very RUDE and could care less about the patients and their needs. The STATE needs to come and…

Another night after 9:30pm spent on the phone for several HOURS trying to get ahold of someone to take care of basic needs for my mom at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Pawling. It is now after midnight …. After listening to the phone ring thousands of times, some people answering, transferring the phone and being hung up on multiple times before I can say a word… I want anyone who is interested to read this and decide if this is the place you want your loved one to reside. My mother has been sitting on a soiled diaper for 12 hours. The last 7 hours she has been sitting on excrement.…
The last 7 hours she has been sitting on excrement. My mom has had her call bell on for hours! She already has a break in her skin yet the aide comes in and turns the call bell off and says she will be right back yet doesn’t change her. This is a small written piece from the long saga I endured tonight. It took me 2 1/2 hours of constantly being on the phone to finally get my mother changed. This is all I could write on here.
They claim to care about your comfort which some do but it's really all about the $$ for them. The only unit that gets reasonably decent care is unit 200. The residents are given supplies for cleanliness and care. The other units have bare bones. The rooms are decent but small. Some of the staff are caring and others are horrible and don't belong in healthcare especially in a facility like this! The activities department is awesome.
they left my friend bleeding in the hallway. then waited 8 days to send him to the hospital or test his blood. after me pleading with them to do so. and they lied about the whole affair.
With long term IV medication and the need for P/T and O/T the Grand at Pawling was available. Having received negative feed back, My wife and I made the right decision. Everyone from administration to staff welcomed us with an open bed [date removed]. And because of the Covid outbreak they made [name removed] as comfortable as possible but also she became a patient of this nasty virus. With the awesome help of the administration and nursing staff they made this lonely 4 month stay tolerable. [names removed] are the best at all communication and the operator knew my 1st name. They do have heroes working there. Besides some cosmetics in and out and sometimes the meals needed some love The Grand was Grand.
Family member stayed here and was severely injured during therapy. Discharge notes to hospital “tachycardia of unknown source”. Mean night staff, elevators always broken, roommate smoking in room WITH oxygen, I can go on! Poorly managed, dangerous place. Please don’t leave your loved ones here!
Wish I could give it no stars. We had a pretty terrible experience here for subacute rehab of our mother. The communication was non existent. Our mother went into the facility to complete a course of antibiotics, and instead rapidly declined and died in 2-3 weeks. Countless phone calls were not returned, over 2 weeks time. Messages were left for nurses, nursing supervisors, physicians and nurse practitioners regarding what was happening and why, with no return call. My sister would physically go to the facility daily and no one had any idea what was happening, each person with contradicting information. I even called my mother's room one day and a nurse was present and she refused to get on the phone. She said she would call me back from the nurses station, which she did not. The only help we received was from the social worker Megan. I wish I could go back in time and choose a different facility. Unfortunately, wishing will not bring back my mother.
We have recommended The Grand to our friends! They are taking good care of my son. They have been good to us with answering my questions.
