The Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Success

in reading all of these outstanding reviews, it feel like my mother-in-law, may she rest in peace, was in a different facility. Starting with the "sales pitch". It is a beautiful building. We saw the spa, the fitness center, the crafts room...all beautiful. Are they used by the guests, regularly or at all? The dining staff and aids, work very hard and are understaffed. The leadership seems to be a revolving door. The only things that I can find positive from our experiences were the holiday celebrations and the musicians and entertainers that were invited to perform. At the end of the day, its a glorified nursing home w/lipstick.

I can't say enough good things about the Bristal in Lake Success. My dad was there for close to 9 months until his passing. He arrived with pretty advanced stage dementia and was greeted so kindly by everyone. The staff is kind beyond words and just excellent overall. I don't know what we would have done without the Bristal! From the friendly front desk person to the person wiping my dad's tushy! lol. Towards the end when he really started to decline, the staff was incredibly accommodating customizing the food for him so that he could still eat. I wouldn't hesitate to put my loved one in the care of the Bristal.

We made the right decision! The staff at the Bristal in Lake Success NY are the best! This location specializes with memory care which consists of helping residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia. A dedicated memory care community like none other on Long Island! From the ladies in the front office: Julie, Shania, and Jordan, to Iris at reception (who always greets with positivity and a smile) I always feel comfortable walking into the facility. Raabia, Director of Case Management and Lysa, who Oversees the Wellness Center, have been especially wonderful with helping our Mom adjust to the life at The Bristal. Having a Wellness Center with nurses, aides and a doctor on site, gives a very strong sense of caring. They handle a lot of residents' requests including from their family members as well and they really have a strong handle on it all! The apartments have all the comforts as home, including a full size bath and shower, full/queen size bed and a kitchenette with a refrigerator and sink! Makes it easy to bring in some snacks once in a while and store them. They also offer the Foresite Health onitoring and fall detection platform. This is an absolute must to prevent and track resident health and provide immediate alerts to the team members should an accident ever occur. Everyday staff and laundry services make their rounds to each and every residence room. Between cleaning up and vacuuming floors, taking out trash, making the bed and picking up laundry, the service is impeccable! The common living spaces are nicely decorated and bright, makes you feel right at home. A huge thank you to the activities managers who truly get everyone involved! My mom loves the sing-alongs, movie times and music events. Mary, Marce, Parnell, Anthony to name a few. And yes the food is fantastic! Mom is always raving how good and tasty everything is. Always fresh breakfast, lunch and dinner.. Mom never ate so good! Thank you to the kitchen staff to always getting Mom's favorites to her.. coffee and oatmeal! And a bigger thank you to all the caregivers that spend each and every moment taking care of my Mom and every resident on a daily basis... Moments shared as friends not just aides make all the difference! My sister and I have become very close especially to the one-on-one relationships these ladies have with caring for our Mom. This feeling gives us a great peace of mind, especially when we are unable to visit. We know that Mom is in good hands! We truly are blessed to have these people in Mom's everyday quality of living.. Each staff member puts their heart out on their sleeves ~ genuine, kind and compassionate with each resident, including their families! Thank you for everything you do! This home is amazing! Our mother has been taken care of like family. They make sure her favorite foods are given at meals. The housekeepers keep her room tidy and clean, they play lots of games and have super fun activities all day long. The people who take care of her at the wellness center and her aide who helps her at night when she's ready for bed are all extremely caring. We are so happy we found you all, and appreciate all this Bristal does for our mom/grandma!
