The community and team I met when visiting recently were absolutely pleasant. I was greeted throughout the entire visit and was even able to speak with some of the individuals living there, who had nothing but positive things to say. The staff were all extremely friendly and kind. I had a very thorough visit where all of my questions were answered. The grounds are beautiful and the outdoor spaces are very well maintained. I can see why everyone appeared so happy while there
I highly recommend, without reservation, The Ambassador of Scarsdale. My husband’s quality of life and longevity were increased during his residence there. The accommodations are excellent, the food is delicious and varied, and the activities are many and outstanding, but the main advantage is the amazing staff from President Jean Dumphy and her crew to all those they have hired. Everyone is knowledgeable, caring, kind and respectful of each resident’s dignity. A special shoutout to Jean, Joshy, Tara, Karen, Kristin, Nana, Belinda, Evan, Yaw, Henry, Mark and Jeff. Yes, we call everyone by their first names and they all do the same to our visiting family and friends, whom they made it their business to recognize and know. We will be forever grateful for the care given to my husband and us.
Cannot speak more highly of the experience and care my aging mother received at the Ambassador. The flexibility, attention to detail, and medical wherewithal was top shelf. Our mother thrived there as her mental health declined and the staff and Jean continually focused on meeting her needs as they changed! Not to mention the immaculate facility! Highly recommend!
I would like to take this opportunity to share my family's positive experience at the Ambassador of Scarsdale. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, my mother struggled to find a caring environment where she could get the support she needed. The Ambassador was the third Assisted Living center for her, and it was by far the best of the experiences. I found the staff to be extremely professional and well trained. I was really impressed with the overall leadership and logistics planning that makes the Ambassador able to provide a challenging level of care and I appreciated that we could contact any number of strong leaders and caregivers. They have designated administrative/operations leaders, nursing/health leads, and activities planners. The personal aides who cared for her directly were very patient and understanding. As my mother's condition deteriorated, we were able to work with the team to customize a more aggressive care plan within our budget. I think that this is an important topic for anyone considering Assisted Living to address before moving to the Ambassador or any other care facility as the needs of your loved one will change over time. We also were thrilled with the Ambassador's activities and amenities offerings- constant activity offerings throughout the day including live music, movies, games, lectures, and religious services. They have an on-site beauty parlor for manicures and hair styling. The food is excellent- 3 full meals day that are offered in 2 shifts and I appreciated that the meals were well attended in person (in some of the other places too many of the residents took their food in their rooms and I think that's bad for socializing/engagement). I also liked the fact that they have their own technical staff for TV/computer issues and I didn't have to deal with that myself. I think no review would be complete without mentioning where there could be improvements- The Ambassador like most care facilities could do a better job at utilizing technology to centralize billing, care plans, and administrative needs in a digital hub- but they make up for that gap with a team that is very responsive to any questions or updates that I had. Overall, I strongly recommend the Ambassador of Scarsdale, and appreciate the great care they provided our mother.
Really impressed with the staff. Gave a level of care and concern that was above and beyond what I would expect. Go out of their way to make the place comfortable and lively in equal measure. Cannot recommend enough for the peace of mind they provide.
Hello everyone, and what I want to say is that this place is not recommended for any elderly person. Since the people who work there neglect the patients, they do not speak English well, everyone comes from Africa and their language is not understood, apart from that, they only care about the image of the place, not the patients, they only want the place to look good to make the image and they do not care about the patients or their health. I have lost two relatives who were there in that place due to the lack of attention from the staff who are there who do not want to do their job. Very bad service and experience I mean, that's not a place for elderly people to end up the way they let patients die there. The service is terrible, the food is terrible for the patient, and it's all an image so they can make the clients and the patients' children believe that everything is fine. The service from the HHA tenders they have there is very bad, and they don't speak English very well.
My dad lived here and passed away in 2019. I am upset by the few negative reviews. The place is beautiful, clean and bright (most assisted living places are depressing/not newly decorated) and the food was really quite good (I even joined him sometimes). In addition, the staff was outstanding when my dad needed more help. This quality of care does not come cheap. People really shouldn't even comment about cost. You get what you pay for. Anyone with elderly parents knows that. Thank you Ambassador. I surely miss my dad.
We saw The Ambassador of Scarsdale. I liked the facility. I liked the staff, and the price was obviously right. I just thought it was clean, neat, organized and very professional. I only talked to two employees. The facility itself is beautiful. The outside is beautiful. They had a beautiful garden courtyard area. In the memory care unit, they have a TV room, activity room, and nice beautiful little lunch room.
