Beware!! Dollars are valued over residents. There are significant disconnects between administration and caregivers. They are grossly understaffed! After several falls (which they did not report to us) our loved one was sent to the hospital. At the hospital his functioning level decreased, the "great" staff at Brookmeade informed us he was no longer appropriate for the facility. After that they let us know we would be required to give 30 days notice! So in essence, they would not allow his return and charged us the $9,000 "rent". After that they let us know we would be required to give 30 days notice! So in essence, they would not allow his return and charged us the $9,000 "rent". They were kind enough to give us a credit of just over $100 for meals, that's about $5.00 per day! How generous. ISSUES WE ENCOUNTERED - Not reporting falls -Cleaning Issues - for a month the apartment smelled like putrefied urine - we found fecal matter on the sheets on several occasions - carpets were so dirty we rented a carpet cleaner at the local grocery store -Revolving door of Aides -Poor food quality - I mean really poor! -Consistently NOT returning calls. -Little to no activities Its now been 30 days since we left, no one and I mean NO ONE will return our calls and they are still holding our deposit. On a closing note, I spoke with the administrator one week ago today. The call gave me great hope that after all of this they may choose to do the right thing. I was promised a call back Monday (5 days ago), which came and went. Giving the benefit of the doubt I left another message yesterday (Thursday). Still nothing!
Staff is wonderful! So caring, communicative. They spend time with clients. Very respectful. Loving.
My mother-in-law has moved into The Terraces at Brookmeade. We visited a few others, but we liked this one. It's small, the people are very caring, and it's assisted living, which includes memory care of some sort. We've been very pleased. We also live very close to it, so that was another factor. The food is very good, but they repeat the same thing. Older people don't like to make choices, so they always get what's served and it gets monotonous, but it's still good. The activities are not bad, but not great. They have a bus trip that goes to the supermarket or something. They have a beauty…

The Baptist Home is the nursing home, which is also right next door and my mother-in-law is receiving physical therapy there. She has a one-bedroom with a little kitchenette, a microwave, and a refrigerator, a fairly large living room, a bedroom, and a very large bathroom with her own walk-in shower, and a huge walk-in closet as well as a large coat closet. She gets personal laundry service once a week and they have regular home-sized laundry so that only her clothes are done in the washing machine and dryer at one time. It's not mixed in, in those humongous machines. She gets trash done at least once a day and vacuuming and basic stuff once a week. If something else is needed, it's taken care of, and they take care of her medication.
Very lovely assisted living , It is not large and the staff were great . The really personalize based on people's needs. They were with my Dad every step of the way, from when he came in needing very little support , until the end.
Nice , small community feeling. Lovely setting , nice apartments for assisted living. Staff is great and they were with my Dad every step of the way, to the end. They supported us as well. Hugs to all of them!
This is a new adjustment for my dad and the community has been a very good fit for him. They have activities available and the staff invite my dad to join. The care is good and he is in a clean environment throughout the community.
The place is beautiful! Scenic property, apartments are a nice size and so much to offer. The place reminds me of a beautiful hotel, but the touch of home. Residents say the food is great and so much to choose from.
