I toured Terrace at Newark. It's very spacious. It has lots of activities to offer. The people were very friendly, and we were able to take care of getting my mother signed up very quickly. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable and answered questions that we had. The place was very clean and very light. It had nice, large hallways and tall ceilings. Everything seemed up-to-date. The atmosphere was very friendly and happy.
We liked the facilities, the activities, the staff, the cleanliness, and the attentiveness of Terrace at Newark. It's self-pay into Medicaid, which was what we were looking for, and it had a very nice atmosphere. The staff was very nice, attentive to our needs, and informative. The rooms were clean, spacious, and accommodating. They do a lot of crafts and they get them out into the community. So, they are socially active. The location was out in the country, so that was very relaxing and inviting. They have walking trails and a lot of places where they can actually sit and talk and visit.
My mom has been living at The Terrace for 6 month so far. She loves it there and it is well kept, clean and the staff are friendly. She enjoys the activities and the social interaction. She is safe and it is great to have her at a place she loves, knowing that she is being looked after.
The staff (and management) at this facility are top notch and take amazing care of our mother who has been there a few years now - they care about the residents and give us a peace of mind that someone we love dearly is in good hands - so appreciative of them all!!
Terrace at Newark is very clean and very welcoming. They do daily and weekly activities. They also have exercise and ice-cream parties. The staff was very friendly.
My uncle recommended this community and I was very disappointed and outraged. My first communication was with Chris, the owner, who informed me that they had a memory care facility and that they could accommodate my mom. He was very knowledgeable, kind and considerate. I explained to him that her finances were limited, but we would be able to pay privately for about 8 years. To which he informed me that the community was certified by the State and that they accepted Medicaid. I set up an interview with the nurse for my mom. It was a 40 minute phone conversation. After the interview, the manager (at the time) and nurse called me and informed me that they did not have the time or staff to take care of my mom and that she was a "flight risk"(because she asked about going to church) in which if she left the building, they would need to call the police and she would end up with a Mental Health arrest (my mom is a docile, kind woman and has always been easy to redirect). At the end of the conversation they informed me that the owners wanted me to know that they are a private pay facility and, if or when they became certified, there were other clients ahead of my mom and that the openings for Medicaid were limited. I have since found a different community for my mom. Chris reached out to me to apologize for the experience I had. He explained how Medicaid does not cover the memory care unit, which is unfortunate for individuals and their families who are in need of the help. He has also informed me that the management has been changed and that he will personally see that the experience I had will never happen again. I am grateful he reached out. Thank you, Chris.
Lovely facility, clean and neat. Everyone we met was so kind and nice. Love the common areas, and all the activities they provide the residents.
The terrace was very nice, homey, and patient-oriented. They had many indoor activities but not as many outings as other places. However, it was too far away from my father. The dining area was very good and health conscious, but the portions were small. They had quite a selection, but you get served what they had prepared. They had a salon and a soda room, where you can get sundae and ice cream. It was well set up.
