I am beyond disgusted and deeply disturbed by what I witnessed at St. Michael’s Adult Care Facility at 3 Lehman Terrace in Yonkers, NY. This place should be a safe haven for vulnerable elderly individuals, but instead, it feels like a facility where neglect and mistreatment are tolerated. Residents are routinely left unattended for long periods of time, with call bells going unanswered and basic needs ignored. I personally observed elderly individuals sitting in soiled clothing, clearly uncomfortable, with no sense of urgency from staff to assist them. The lack of attentiveness and care is not just concerning—it’s inhumane. The environment itself feels cold and uncaring. There is little to no compassion shown toward residents, many of whom rely entirely on staff for their daily needs. Instead of patience and kindness, I witnessed frustration, dismissiveness, and outright disrespect. The staff’s behavior is one of the most alarming parts of this facility. When concerns are brought up, they are met with attitude, eye-rolling, and rude, unprofessional responses. Some staff members come across as completely indifferent, while others are outright nasty and confrontational. It’s clear that customer service and basic human decency are not priorities here. Families place immense trust in facilities like this, believing their loved ones will be treated with dignity and care. Unfortunately, that trust is being completely betrayed at this location. No elderly person deserves to be treated this way, and no family should have to worry about whether their loved one is being neglected or disrespected. I strongly urge anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere. What I saw here raises serious concerns about the safety, well-being, and overall quality of care being provided.
My mother in law is turning 102 in 4 months and has lived and has extended her life living in a great environment at St. Michael’s . We are Blessed to have this facility dedicated to the Greek of age God Bless
I have been visiting St. Michael's Home for many years. It is an exceptional facility that is organized, clean and caring. The current staff at the facility are very professional and helpful in many ways. Many of our parishioners have gone to St. Michael's and I can see that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Anyone who goes here is in exceptional hands and care.
My aunt moved to St. Michael's Home in January of 2024. It was a tremendous change as she left a home where she had lived for over 50 years. I can say without hesitation that the staff at St. Michael's went above and beyond to make the transition as smooth as possible. My aunt was excited to see a large dining room, a patio area, a recreation room and a beautiful chapel. For her to be able to still attend the Greek Orthodox services was an absolute blessing. I have attended services there with his grace Bishop Andonios and spent time at coffee hour with him. His love, dedication and devotion to this home and the residents is truly genuine. The staff is outstanding and they treat every resident as if they were family. Kiki is so professional and made the application and admission process extremely easy. Stivin is so very organized with the financial aspects and even helped my aunt decorate and hang many of her icons. Peter is the happy voice that greets me either over the phone or first thing as you enter the building. Lana plans such nice activities in the recreation room. Patrina in the medical staff has such patience to assist with all my aunt's medications and medical needs. The kitchen staff has been wonderful in preparing all the meals and always offering her something else on those days when she hasn't always enjoyed what they have served. It is never easy to place a family member in an adult home however, it has given me great peace of mind to know she is in such wonderful, loving and caring hands. St. Michael's Home is truly a gem and I am blessed to have such a wonderful team that I now consider family.
St Michaels is an amazing place. My father has been there over two years. This has been the best thing for him. Everyone there is great. They treat all the residents like their own family. My father calls St Michaels his fantastic home. Its also very clean and family friendly. I would definitely recommend this home for a loved one
My 91-year old Greek-born mother loved this place. The administrators, staff, residents and family visitors make this a loving community. Who wouldn't want a place that has it all: chapel, prayer, amazing Greek food & holiday celebrations, activities, kali parea, and a safe & happy environment. God bless you!
If you love your family members please don’t send them here. These people take advantage of these elderly people. My aunt died and because she had a proxy this facility failed to tell any of the biological family members, most of which are in Greece. KIKI the administrator is a manipulator and a liar. She had my information and did not contact me so that I could tell the family. My aunt died alone with strangers and her proxy wasn’t even there. She was buried without any family present. To add insult to injury KIKI refused to talk to me when I called. She instructed everyone there to not release anymore information. I know there was certainly foul play surrounding my aunts death and we are currently seeking counsel. Please for your loved ones don’t allow this facility to care for them. They will take their money and as soon as their memory starts to go they will take advantage and do their best to keep you away from your family member so that they can get off with their insurance money.
Staff not allowed to talk to family members. Yelling to consumers if they try to get up from their chair. My mom was getting UTI because the staff wasn't taking care of her . When she was asking them to take her to the bathroom their answer was not now sit down. The UTI caused her to felt a lot and ending to ER every time. The last time she in the ER they gave her antibiotics and send her to St Michael's, Athena refused to except her and she send her back to ER. She didn't even called me to let me know, the ER called me. Thank God I was able to find another place close to my house and transfer her.
