TCC provided exceptional physical therapy, occupational therapy, care and compassion. TCC provides exceptional care with a compassionate and dedicated staff. The team is attentive, professional, and truly treats residents like family. The facility is clean, welcoming, and communication with families is excellent. It gives great peace of mind knowing loved ones are in such caring hands. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience at Tim McCormick Care Center. The team is incredibly professional, attentive, and truly focused on patient recovery. The team is compassionate and responsive, making sure all needs are met promptly. Overall, it’s a clean, welcoming facility that provides high-quality rehabilitation care. I would highly recommend Tim McCormick Care Center to anyone in need of rehab services.

I really do not like to leave negative reviews, but I see this as a public service. . My poor 84-year-old mother was stuck at McCormick Transitional Care Center after a major, major, lumbar fusion surgery, and wow, what a horrible, horrible experience, the result of which is the need for a second and third even more invasive surgeries to repair the damage she sustained at this facility. First of all, the nursing staff and physician's assistant failed miserably to manage her pain. My mom was in absolute agony, crying out for help, with woefully inadequate pain medication. I should not have had to explain it, but I informed them of the surgery and what it entailed along with my mom's medical history and efforts at pain management... and I literally begged them to help her. It did no good. They did not increase her meds to appropriate and recommended levels for her situation. They did not adequately take care of her bodily needs nor take measures to make her more comfortable. The aids would usually just ignore her call light and her cries of pain, or step in and turn the light off, telling her coldly that she had to wait for help or meds or whatever she needed. She was often left in a soiled bed, crying in pain and humilation. I AM NOT EXAGERATING. In desparation, my mother would try to get up and get to the bathroom on her own. There was no bed alarm... nothing. And she fell more than once, after spinal surgery!! Oh my God, not good, scary, and devastating. Finally I call her surgeon, on a weekend. I told him what was going on, and he was NOT happy about it. So finally, after getting her surgeon involved, they increased her pain meds, and followed his direction on a multi-modal pain management approach, which should have been in place from day one. Hence she was able to start rehab, but it was too late. She had already fallen several times, which cause damage to the surgical site, as we have come to find out. At the time, one particular fall was an obvious and major setback. What little improvement she had gained to that point quickly dissipated. She has never recovered from that fall, nor the surgery; fusion failed as result of it, without question. Still the neglect continued by the aids. I would see the the girls chatting or hanging out down the hall when I arrived, despite my mom's light being on. We would wait more than 30 minutes to an hour for someone to answer her calls for help, and we often had to go get someone to help her. And when the aids finally showed up, many were very rude or unkind to her, not to mention incompetent. My mom once fell, hard, with someone standing right there but apparently making no effort to support or help her with the toileting. As a direct result of McCormick TCC neglect and failure to keep my mom safe, my mom experienced a fracture at the lowermost vertebra. The pins are floating free and there is movement which caused the fusion to fail. She should be recovered by now, but instead she must undergo not just one but two consecutive surgeries, entering from the front and the back, in order to repair the damage, replace the pins, secure the spine down to the sacrum. This is an even more invasive and brutal surgery than the first one, and I fear she will not survive it. Needless to say she will not be going back to Unity Hospital for this surgery. And McCormick Transitional Care Center and/or Parkridge should be investigated if not shut down, because we were not the only ones there experiencing neglect and abuse. There was one poor lady confined to her wheelchair all day everyday in the dining area. They would not let her go back to her room and lie down because she was "a fall danger." I suppose if my mom could have sat in a wheelchair they might have kept an eye on her in the dining area, but that wasn't an option for her... and i don't believe it's legal.

This place is horrible to its patients. Food is always cold, staff could care less what patient needs. Always to busy, understaffed. My family member has had teeth stolen, dental medication stolen. Pushed into the bed rail while being rolled over by staff and has an eye injury from hitting the rail with her head. This person was fired due to many complaints. No one cares when you ask for anything. So easy to see staff hates their jobs and takes it out on patients. Made several complaints which results in worse treatment to the patient. Only good thing to say is that the physical therapist are good. The also see what is going on and have given advice on who to contact but they just give answers you want to hear with no action. If you have to have a family member here visit all the time at different times you will be shocked. So sad and disgusting how we treat humans in need.

First, let me say that the Physical and Occupational Therapy program is outstanding. My mother made great progress with their guidance and support. We are grateful to them all. In contrast, the nursing care is substandard. The facility is significantly understaffed, communication is non-existent or conflicting, and there is a lack of consistency with the level of care. Frequently, calls for assistance went unanswered for 45 minutes or more, causing my mother discomfort as she was often unable to get to the restroom in time. The lack of organization and coordination of the staff also left her unprepared for her scheduled PT/OT sessions. This would delay and shorten her badly needed therapy. Sadly, her final therapy session consisted of the therapist helping her out of bed and getting her cleaned up and ready for the day. Not a shock, but disappointing nonetheless. When her insurance was discontinued and discharge was imminent, staff could not manage to provide correct information or even bother to return to update us as they had promised. No one had any authority to make any decisions, leaving our family to be unprepared and frustrated. Even the physician assigned to my mother’s care was dismissive and seemed disinterested. I removed my mother from the facility after a final failed attempt to gain the attention of a supervisor. I can honestly say that I do not know if the nursing staff is truly indifferent or has just been beaten down by a lack of support, leadership, and consistency. Either way, we would not recommend this facility as a haven for your loved one’s recuperation.

This facility does not have the appropriate staff. Many staff members have stated that they had no idea of the specific care needed for my mother. The aides stand out in the hall socializing as patients need assistance. They leave the elderly in their rooms to go to the bathroom in their chairs because they don’t have time to help them. My family member asked for allowed pain medicine several times and didn’t get it. A bad infection was not addressed by the staff after several reminders and a phone call to the facility supervisor. Finally another family member made a nighttime visit to address the critical medical issue and perform the facilities nursing job function. Beware if you have a loved one in this unit. Make sure u know what’s going on at all times and keep a pulse on their required medical needs!! 😢

It's an amazing Independent Living Senior Apartment Community! The Property Manager, Courtney, Support Staff and Residents are welcoming. It very clean and "homey." I am blessed to be moving into the community.
