I had the opportunity to photograph an event at Quail Summit this week, and was so impressed by the community. They had so many options of things to do that everyone could enjoy, and it was obvious that the people who work there enjoy spending time with the people who live there. I'm looking forward to visiting again!
My husband went into Memory Care earlier this year. He is still acclimating but the facilities are nice and well kept. Staff tries hard to make residents comfortable. I wish they had more activities for their male patients. Communication has been pretty good thus far.
Our mom has been a resident at Quail Summit in the Memory care for 10 months now. We are very pleased with her care and the respect and dignity in which she is cared for.We visit often and are able to see how happy mom is. The staff understand dementia and have a very good understanding of mom's needs both physically and emotionally and how to work with residents of varying cognitive stages. Mom has been able to thrive there! Yes, memory care is challenging and also very rewarding ! She is treated as family and the staff have have been trained to support their cognitive needs in a very respectful and caring way. We finally sleep well at night as we know mom is in "good hands". In addition, The nursing staff, head health director all the way up to the director are all very visible , helpful and attentive to the every day care of all residents there. They ALL take part in the positive, supportive atmosphere. The memory care residents are welcomed into many aspects of the Quail Summit community for events, concerts, etc. in which they are able to participate. It feels like family, and runs as a family atmosphere. We recommend Quail Memory Care to many caregivers we come in contact with, mostly because of the peace of mind we feel with mom living there. They are a wonderful facility !!
Our family had an in person tour with Quail Summit community and with everything we saw on the tour we thought it was a great experience, however we just ended up picking a community that was closer in location for our family.
Mom is at Quail Summit. She is in the memory care and I've been very happy with the staff. The facility is very nice. Mom has a studio in the memory care unit with her own bathroom and then a fridge and a sink. They do dessert hour and they watch movies together. When it's warmer, they have a garden outside that they can participate in.
The only tour I remember being unhappy with was a place called Quail Summit. I didn't like it at all. I wouldn't consider living there for any reason. It's not a good place. It's architecturally poor. The thing that stands out is the design of the living quarters, of the two-bedroom facility, we visited. In my opinion, it was poorly designed because the living room had five doorways in it: a doorway to a bedroom, another bedroom, a bathroom, another bathroom, and an entrance way from the hallway. When you have a small room with five entrances, there wasno where to put furniture. It was physically impossible to put a three-seater couch. The most you can get in that room would be a loveseat. It's not a place I want to live. The staff member who accommodated me was a young lady. She was very pleasant and personable. She did a good job representing her employer. Nothing negative about the tour, that was fine. The facility itself is fine. It's just the architecture of the units. The facility was very nice. They had a dining room. They had what you would expect in a nice facility.
When leaving St Mary's church today, the exit was blocked by a Quail Summit transportation vehicle. When I asked him to move, he was very rude.
My sister lived there for awhile until we decided to move her to another facility. On the day we were moving her out, not one of the staff was around to say goodbye. It was as though they all went into hiding! Very unprofessional!
