I have read all the other reviews about Putnam Ridge. All I can say is that you should throw away the best reviews and the worst and use common sense. and read between the lines. No facility is perfect in every respect but you have to understand what goes on there. I've seen the aides working and always using the utmost of care and patience with everyone, even those that don't deserve the kindness they are receiving. I've seen families make demands which can be outrageous. Now, my take on this: The staff is very attentive to all needs and run a clean, attentive operation. I've heard residents…

I've seen the aides working and always using the utmost of care and patience with everyone, even those that don't deserve the kindness they are receiving. I've seen families make demands which can be outrageous. Now, my take on this: The staff is very attentive to all needs and run a clean, attentive operation. I've heard residents yell to nobody in particular to 'Get me out of here!', 'I want to go home', 'Who the hell are you?'. Patients with mental deficiencies are handled in the best way possible with the maximum of patience. I could never have the same level of patience as these aides possess. The food is properly prepared according to the dietary needs of each person. The aides maintain a clean room and bed for everyone and patiently answer questions as the family asks. I noticed that at all levels, time was spent with me to assure my questions were answered completely. I found the highest level of professionalism and courteous response from all departments. Nobody ran from me upon seeing me approach from down the hall. Breda showed outstanding patience with me to make sure I understood the answers and requirements from Medicaid which can be a nightmare at times, same with Elise, Veronica always put me on the right track to getting my questions answered and issues resolved making the contacts for me. She was unbelievable in her help. Vivienne in rehab made sure my friend received the proper rehab, Lopita, the head nurse for the ward, made sure my friend got his meds and attention when needed. Even the nurses and aides in the most difficult ward, Apple, maintained a high level of expertise in handling some difficult residents. There were others but it's needless to go on. Yes, there may be problems that occur, as at any home, but it must be remembered that there are about 160 residents here that all need some level of attention. The home does not go into a panic when a resident yells that his drinking water isn't cold enough. The place is well run and much better than the other homes I've visited. I must rate this home as 5 Stars, representing the highest level of care. R.
Our family recently had to make the very difficult decision to place my father in a long term care facility. From the very beginning, our experience with Putnam Ridge has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air. The entire staff has been incredibly friendly and supportive — from the administrative team and concierge staff to rehabilitation team, nurses, and the facility support team. Everyone we’ve interacted with has shown genuine compassion and care for the residents. They helped make an extremely hard and emotional decision feel like the right choice for our family, and for that we are truly grateful.
Overall I think Putnam Ridge is a great option if you’re looking for a nursing facility for a loved one. The staff is very caring and kind. The facility is very clean and the rooms are large and sunny. The food is very good - especially lunch. They have been having more activities over the last several months which is appreciated. Sometimes staffing (shortages) is an issue, but unfortunately that is the case at all places. The nurses and CNAs/aides work very hard to care for the residents. They seem to genuinely care. I’m glad I chose Putnam Ridge for my family member.
Very well run excellent staff. Very clean and the best staff
My mom has been in a few nursing homes over the last 4 years and I wish we had found Putnum Ridge sooner. They are absolutely amazing! The nurses in her unit are incredible. Nurses Crystal and Danielle are Godsent. I feel so blessed to have them caring for my mom. I live quite far from the facility but I have peace knowing my mother is in good hands. She's always clean and well cared for whenever we visit (and these are unannounced visits). The facility is beautiful and very clean including the resident rooms. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The only dept I think could be a little better is laundry. A lot of my mother's clothes never made it back to her room and have never been seen again. However, this is insignificant compared to the great quality of care she receives. My mother has been in a few extremely bad nursing homes so it's an understatement to say I feel very blessed and fortunate to have found this facility.
The Birch unit had very friendly and caring staff and took an interest in my wife, her preferences and her recovery. My wife enjoyed the food. They offer many engaging activities, both in a group and individual setting. The maintenance staff were very responsive when any issues arose. The rehab staff were very kind, invested and helpful.
Great caring team
My father is currently staying at Putnam Ridge and I truly cannot say enough good things about the care he is receiving. I am very close with him, so trusting others to care for him was not easy for me. From the moment he arrived, the staff has treated him with kindness, patience, and genuine respect, which has brought me a great deal of comfort. I especially want to give a shout out to Victoria Shkreli. When I first came for a tour, I was overwhelmed with everything going on with my dad. Victoria looked me right in the eye and said, “You need to breathe.” In that moment, I knew she understood exactly what I was going through. Since then, she has always looked out for my dad, and it means so much to know someone is paying that kind of attention to him. Knowing he is in such a caring and supportive environment truly puts my mind at ease. I am very grateful for the compassion and dedication of the staff here.
