My grandma was here for rehab and it was a good experience. Being observant it appears the staff care and do there best, things happen beyond their control, these are elderly sick folks with dementia. It's clean anddoesn't smell. Head nurse was available and addressed any concerns immediately. I will advocate for grandma to go back when the time comes.
Attentive staff and good patient care
Christy and Dan are phenomenal!
Do not leave your loved one here! There are staff employed who do not follow directions provided by the hospital discharge papers. And it would seem that the head nurse is not aware of these problems until a family member brings them to her attention. Look around and find a better place before you lose your loved one like we did.
My mom is in Palatine Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She's got really bad dementia. So they take care of everything and she's unable to take care of herself. Every time I go in there, they're all just sitting there doing nothing. There should be some kind of activity or something to entertain them enough that they're engaged. They played bingo or cards and since I've been going, I've engaged probably 8 to 10 more people than they used to. I'm just volunteering but I just go in there on a Saturday and grab up as many people as possible, and we go, whether we play cards or bingo. I even got amusing Nerf guns to shoot at targets. They bounce balls on the table and put them in cups. They like that stuff because they're not just sitting there doing nothing. Her room is like a hospital room. There's no privacy. Everybody's in and out of her room all day.
This place is a nightmare. Half of the staff are evil and the other half are incompetent. I know several people that have had horrendous experiences of not just neglect but legitimate abuse. I can’t believe they are still permitted to operate.
Very nice facility; very nice people.
I would give this facility 0 stars if that was an option...the neglect and incompetence of the nursing care here is by far the worst I have EVER seen in my life. Please do not send your loved one's here...PLEASE DON'T!
