Northern Riverview Assisted Living

The staff at this rehabilitation center have been wonderful. They are kind, compassionate, attentive, and genuinely seem to care about the patients. Our family appreciates the hard work they put in every day, and they’ve made a difficult situation much easier. Unfortunately, the food has been a major disappointment. My brother has lost 15 pounds in just two week while staying here because the meals have been so unappetizing and difficult for him to eat. Nutrition is such an important part of recovery, and it’s concerning that the quality of the food could have such a negative impact on a patient’s health. I hope the facility takes this feedback seriously. With the excellent staff they already have, improving the food would make a significant difference in the overall quality of care.

I have visited a relative, here a few times in the last two months. My last visit was two days ago. Before that visit, I would have given one star or zero stars, if I could. Every time before two days ago, you would walk in the door and the smell of a urine would nearly knock you down. Staff are nice, but many walk or sit around on their cell phones. But something must have happened. My visit 2 days ago, the parking lot was nearly completely full. Which I had never seen before; a new electronic check-in system with Face Recognition; maintenance men walking around looking like they are fixing things, and the smell was a little better. You can tell they we're trying to clean, or at least you can smell cleaning products in the air. There was still some urine smell, but I think because it might have been so long since the place had a deep clean, it maybe a while to get it completely gone. I didn't see the food rations this visit. During previous visits, food rations seem to be barely for sustenance. I will check that next visit. I hope these improvements weren't for show for an impending inspection but time will tell if it sticks.
