When we arrived at Meadowbrook Care Center after months of being in and out of the hospital, we were exhausted and overwhelmed. From the very first day, the staff welcomed us with kindness, compassion, and respect. They didn’t just care for his medical needs—they cared about Paul as a person. The aides are truly the heart of Meadowbrook. They are patient, gentle, hardworking, and always treat their patients with dignity. Margaret, Jennifer, Daniel, Dorothy, Maya ( unit clerk) & Leslie (LPN) were all so helpful, kind and compassionate. Michael is the nurse supervisor who takes the time to effectively treat his patients & their family with knowledge & understanding. The therapy dept. especially Joe worked tirelessly with Paul to progress in his PT goals and to safely transition home. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for quality rehabilitation with a truly caring staff.
Thank you for the excellent care you and your staff have provided for my MIL. Everyone has been so kind and helpful. I am very impressed with everyone's attention to details that has made such a difference for her. MCC staff provides comprehensive care. Everyone works together -- Nurses, Aides, Social Workers, Therapists, Concierge, Dietary, Maintenance, Security, Recreation and the Ice Cream Shop -- with great attention to detail and kindness toward patient and family. Clean, comfortable, and cheery with strong emphasis on safety. I would not hesitate to recommend MCC for a loved one's care.…

I stayed at Meadowbrook care Center for 2 weeks after a hospital visit and then back to the hospital and Meadowbrook for about 5 weeks. I was on the 2nd floor the second time. Michael, the head nurse was fabulous. He listened, was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful with many things. He got involved with patient care. He was very busy but made time for you if you asked to see him. The other nurses and aids were by and large also kind and helpful. There are always a few that make you wait too long and then are not nice when they come to help you. That happens everywhere. I would like to…

There are always a few that make you wait too long and then are not nice when they come to help you. That happens everywhere. I would like to recognize those nurses and aids who were very helpful, they know who they are. I would also like to recognize Occupational and Physical Therapy for their help. While there were a number of therapists that helped me, Andrea, Liz and Chris were the ones who worked with me the most and they were really wonderful and patient with me. Another thing of note is the food. Surprisingly most of it was pretty good. Not gourmet level, you wouldn’t expect it, but certainly pretty good with many choices. I have been in other places where the food was horrible. Here I enjoyed most of my meals. The cleaning crew works to clean the place daily. Beds not too comfortable but by and large a good place to rehab. If I had to I would go there again and try to have Michael as my head nurse and Andrea and Liz as my therapists. Chris was very good and I would work with him again , buy I worked with the others for a longer period of time.
I'm a doctor and I'm never a fan of rating other doctors because I know that everything can usually be much more complex than can show up in a Google review. however it's important that you know what occurs at Meadowbrook. To start the physical therapists are amazing, it's a clean and lovely facility with good food. What is scary is the medical care that's given. My mother went into Meadowbrook with a very rare condition called myositis, she wound up back in the hospital after a day because the doctor didn't give her the dosage of the medication she needed. He actually talked to me and said that his best friend was a rheumatologist so he didn't believe she had the condition that her doctors had diagnosed her with. (She had been diagnosed with a few tests that were the "gold standard," meaning they couldn't be wrong). When I asked him if he had actually discussed this with those doctors, he said no because he didn't want to offend them. He then said he didn't have to follow their recommendations, because he wa sher doctor in house. My mom wound up back in the hospital because of this attitude, but still said it. The scarier incident happened with my father. He wound up in the hospital following a fall. He wanted to go to Meadowbrook though we had concerns. Again he started to get better but one day developed severe weakness. As a doc myself I could recognize the signs of COVID and was asking them to just do a COVID test. the doctor refused for days saying my dead was just deconditioned. Really? He could use a walker yesterday and can't get out of bed today and you're just going to say that is his usual state of being? finally they did a COVID test and it turned out he had COVID. Then again when my father started to have great swelling in his legs and could no longer walk, the doctor discharged him saying that my dad was just deconditioned and he would never be able to walk again. I took my dad to his primary care doctor that same day who automatically diagnosed him as having blood clots in both his legs. He went right to the hospital, thank God after that hospitalization he did not go back to Meadowbrook he went to a different rehab and came out able to walk with a Walker. This is what's scary at Meadowbrook. It's a great place to go if you have no other medical issues, but the doctor there whom I spoke to many times scared me for his arrogance, lack of knowledge or willingness to communicate with other doctors to learn what's actually going on. Finally they lied in their notes. I got the medical records and they said frequently that they spoke with my dad when I was there all day and they never were. Scary place
I was there earlier to see my aunt and didn’t know how to use the machine. The security guards were very nice and helped me. Both greeted me with a smile and made me feel welcomed. The building is very clean, and the nursing staff are nice.
Great job. Everyone was very nice and helpful
My Dad was a resident at MeadowBrook for almost 5 years. Most of the CNAs and LPNs were good. The staff in the Recreation and PT departments were great. That’s where a positive review ends. Communication is non existent. Trying to call the floor is an exercise in futility. The phones are rarely answered and if you leave a message a call back is a rarity. Care plan meetings, for the most part only happened when I threatened to call DOH. The turnover with Nurse Managers was astounding. Meetings with management are nothing but frustration. All the right words are said but nothing ever changes. They have spent a fortune renovating the facility and it is beautiful. But a beautiful building means very little when the frustrations are so great. The last thing that needs mentioning is the parking. There is a very small lot in the front of the building for “ visitors “ . If you’re there at shift change you will see how many cars belong to staff and vendors. Even though there is a big lot for staff. Street parking is rough at best so be prepared to walk 3 or 4 blocks when you go to visit. I often thought about transferring my Dad to a different facility but for a 90 year old man with dementia it would have been to traumatic for him. Think twice before having your loved one admitted here.
My dad was spent time there and nursing staff was awful. He had a wound on his leg which was never attended to. They leave their patients in their soiled diapers for hours. And when you complain the staff takes it out on the patient by half-hearted service and neglect. I would not recommend this facility for my dog.
