Excellent observation from staff in needing a new mattress for room 101, Homola to protect and comfort Mother in recovery. Maggie and Eugenia, and the maintenance man that helped in the process of bringing it and changing it over. - the night crew, Aug 2nd, Sunday, received patient with kindness and warm welcome. So impressed with nurses checking in and following protocol. The assistant/cna started caring immediately, was on it with changing her essentials so she felt refreshed. Grateful Yours, Deb ( daughter)
Entry was fast and easy. Very thorough. It was so clean and welcoming. When a loved one gets placed into a rehabilitation center, to learn how to walk again, you want to feel confident that they are in caring and skilled hands. I am thankful to have met with Brandi, The nursing supervisor the day of his admittance . I thoroughly shared my hopes and expectations. She listened patiently and kindly, and shortly following meeting her, the aid brought in dinner. Everyone was so friendly and kind. I look forward to my children’s father getting back up on his feet so he can walk his daughter down…

Although the facility is outdated, it is clean and security is great. The lobby is welcoming and offers vending machines for snacks, as well as couches and tables to sit at while visiting. The recreation team is wonderful. One person that truly stands out and has made a difference in my brother's days is wonderful Humeyra. As soon as we met Humeyra she became an important role in my brother's progress. My brother could not speak when he first arrived at Massapequa. The recreation team is wonderful. One person that truly stands out and has made a difference in my brother's days is wonderful Humeyra. As soon as we met Humeyra she became an important role in my brother's progress. My brother could not speak when he first arrived at Massapequa. He has since started to say words and sometimes even sentences. Humeyra's daily conversations with him in Turkish and English has kick started him to relearn speaking both languages. Humeyra always encourages my brother to join activities. He finally participated in the Orange Blossom Festival, played darts, and had a great time. Seeing my brother happy means the world to us. I want to thank Humeyra and the whole team for their kindness, encouragement, and dedication.
If your reading this, you're probably considering putting a loved one into the Massapequa Nursing care Facility. All I can say is DON'T. The staff is very dismissive, rude and there's no supervision to speak of. I understand to staff a facility such as this must be very challenging and it's a tough job. The folks who work at this facility know this. So they treat the residents terribly since they're not concerned with getting fired. . I'm pretty sure a bunch of these 5 star reviews are made up by them. We are very polite and prescribe to the idea that you get more Flys with honey. The staff could care less. They treat my MIL awful. And she's always nice go everyone. We've had more than one issue with them too. They really are this awful. Keep looking for a better facility. This one is just bad.
Having a loved one in a nursing home is never easy, but having my dad at Massapequa Center Rehabilitation & Nursing has made it so much easier. We are very happy with the facility and staff in general, but having someone like Lori Ramos there has really meant a lot to our family. Over the year my father has been there, Lori has always taken the time to check in on him and make sure he feels comfortable, included, and cared for. At first, he was shy and unsure about joining activities, but Lori was so patient and encouraging with him. He really trusts her, and as his family, that gives us so much peace of mind. What really stands out is how Lori treats all of the residents. She’s genuinely kind and has a way of making everyone feel seen and important. You can tell she truly cares about the people there, and that kind of compassion is something special. Knowing there’s someone there who feels like family makes it a lot easier for us to worry less and feel confident that our father is being cared for emotionally as well as physically. We’re incredibly grateful for Lori and everything she does. I’d recommend this nursing home to anyone who needs to find a caring place for their family member.
I am very happy that I transferred my brother to this place. The staff is patient focused, they are caring, loving, and compassionate. The place is always very clean although, some of the rooms need to be upgraded because they are old and not so comfortable specially for those that are in long term care. My brother is happy and loves his team! Massapequa Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Home has very good programs and activities for the residents and some of these include family involvement. One of these programs is the Art Therapy under the supervision of the art therapist, Meyra. My brother loves this program and I do as well. Meyra is a wonderful art therapist, she is very much in tune with each resident that participates in her classes. For my brother, who had shut down completely from the world and its surrounding do to the circumstances that happened in his life, Meyra helped him to engage in communication and put out any emotions and feelings that he was feeling at the time through the paintings and projects that he did alone and in groups. Through conversations with him, she helped him build a strong demeanor and see life in a different way. Thank you Meyra for helping my brother get through with the art therapy during those challenging times that negatively affected his life, you are an excellent art therapist! A big thank you also for the wonderful work the staff does on a daily basis with all the residents.
Facility very clean my family member is very happy with the service she is getting.
What a great staff. Really listen to my father's requests. Very attentive to his needs. It's clean, great rehab room. Having dealt with these places before I must say I'm very impressed.Plenty of parking. Vending machines for visitors. Excellent security.
