Good nursing home and most of the staff friendly and helpful.
Went to visit my brother and was truly impressed by the all the staff. The gentleman playing the music trivia game spoke to the individuals with kindness and respect. He was very polite and nurturing and included everyone. The game was probably a sort of therapy as he often took notes. I stayed with my brother during his lunch which he seemed to enjoy as did all the people eating at our table did. Some had turkey sandwiches or chili and corn bread and a cookie. Plenty to drink. The staff were friendly , fun and helpful. I was very pleased with what I was seeing. People coming back from the…

The staff were friendly , fun and helpful. I was very pleased with what I was seeing. People coming back from the salon looked fabulous and staff let them know with compliments and a little shout out. Staff walked my brother and myself back to his room , opened his window blinds to let the sunlight shine in and left us to enjoy our visit. The room was clean and spacious with its own bathroom. I left that day feeling great and relieved that my brother is in great hands.
The staff for the most part is very kind. Everything is very old though. They have no bed rails or bed pad alarms for fall risk patients. So if someone falls they won't know until the go to their room. It also doesn't help that they leave the bed high instead of lowered. My father's first day in the rehabilitation he called me at 1:53 said no one has come to help him to the bathroom. At 3:55 he called again over 2 hrs later since he got the call bell and no one came. He's there because he needs to improve his walking. They took him to use the bathroom in the room and the toilet had a bunch of…

My father's first day in the rehabilitation he called me at 1:53 said no one has come to help him to the bathroom. At 3:55 he called again over 2 hrs later since he got the call bell and no one came. He's there because he needs to improve his walking. They took him to use the bathroom in the room and the toilet had a bunch of poop. My father told them he will not use that toilet like that. They said fine he won't be able to use his bathroom that he has go use another. They then took him to another bathroom which was not close. After having a long talk with the nurse on duty April. They moved my father to a single room with his own bathroom and things have been better. With the exception of them misplacing has medication that I brought in from the V.A for him. I visit everyday and he says he has not had a problem yet and they are very quick when he got his call light now. He has 2 more weeks left and we're taking him out.
2 aides for 40 patients!!!!! Totally uncalled for....🤬
Visited the small home on the property was very quaint.
Needs to improve on communication. Concerns that require a Physician and/or nurse practitioner visit as well as results are not consistently communicated. They DO NOT have an efficient way of contacting staff. No pager or cell dedicated to contact those who are working.
Kudos to the great team at the Lutheran Adult home! Kind caring employees that go above and beyond for the residents.
This place is hit or miss depending on who is working. There is no consistency with care levels day to day. Sometimes we walk in and the staff are happy, patients are being cared for and other days the place smells and workers are slowly wondering around and cell phone in their hands. There are some FANTASTIC people here who genuinely care but it's the slack off staff that ruin it. Yes it is warmer than normal, the elderly and patients healing need to be warm and sometimes they have trouble regulating their temps. The wait times for care after ringing the bell varies depending on the staff, most days people are in here quickly and other days very slow. Just check on your family if they are here and be friendly to the staff.
