They were really good to my mom
The staff is so caring and sweet to my Mom
My mother Frances has been a resident for almost a year now, and I cannot say enough about the loving and compassionate care she receives daily by the staff. Brandi the Nurse Manager and Jeremy the PA are always willing to listen to any concerns I may have, and check on her often, and may share a joke or three! They truly care and go above and beyond for each and every one of the residents who are part of their Jennie B family. Brandi recently added a new addition to the team; a puppy named B!!! Dr. Hudzinski examines her frequently, and even spent lunchtime just chit chatting with us for a personal touch. She is present and very busy in the Nursing Home, caring individually for the many patients she overseas, and has made this a priority in her newest professional endeavor. I cannot express my gratitude enough regarding the attentiveness of the NURSES and CNA's who are the daily hands on caregivers. They take care of her needs with grace, love and dignity in every realm. Physical, mental, & spiritual. They go above and beyond to know each resident personally, and it shows!!! Kathy, the Social Worker is always busy in her office with all the paperwork necessary to ensure things run smoothly and efficiently for each resident. She always has a friendly smile and is available to help assist and answer the many questions associated with the financial aspects of individual cases. Hence, Trust the Process! The activities team both Gloria and Sonya are filled with joy, enthusiasm and so many FUN activities for the residents who they lovingly encourage to participate. They are so loving, kind and joyful! My grandchildren are welcomed to participate, and love joining in on the FUN so much they don't want to leave!!! My mother is frequently visited by the dietary department, the cleaning staff, and her Yankees friend who chit chats with her all about the games they both love watching. I feel very blessed that my mother is comfortable, content, happy and very loved in her home away from home. I will be eternally grateful to all of you while my mother continues to thrive in your care!
The rehab mom stayed at was the Jennie B Richmond. They were very attentive, and they got her up and moving with physical therapy. They pushed and helped to get her into the assisted living, which we had struggled with before. Just all around, all the folks were nice and communicative. I had a great experience with them. They all worked with her, and they all loved her. She was completely happy with the food. They had some activities, but not a huge amount. They had bingo and arts and crafts. She got to go to that once or twice a week. You can't expect so much from a place like that though. I didn't hear any complaints from her.
The staff are both concerned about the medical well being of the patients and their comfort.
The staff for the most part were friendly and knowledgable.. the smell sometimes in the place was far from nice.. It seems sometimes the staff were overwhelmed and not able to meed the needs of all residents.. The amenities were far and in between.. As time went on things the residents could do shrunk.. They used to do activities and they went away when the management changed.. It seemed the resident care was second and making the most money was first..
When I first walked in to visit my Aunt Phyllis, I was nervous. Nursing homes are not the first place I want to be. I received a phone call earlier that day that my aunt's crohn's disease had gotten a lot worse suddenly and she was on her death bed, so my family and I went to visit her. I was greeted with a smile and asked if I needed help finding the room I was looking for. The lady at the front desk took me right to my aunts room at the end of the hall in the East Wing. The lobby was decorated with pumpkins(since it was the beginning of November) and recent pictures of residents petting animals. When I got in there I noticed I didn't smell anything. I used to work at a different nursing home and that one smelled bad the second I went into work everyday. My aunt had perfume, stuffed animals, and a homemade pirate ship by her bed. I asked where she had gotten them, and my uncle replied "She won them at Bingo". It was nice to know that she didn't just lay there all day watching tv and that she had fun there. The nurse came to check on her every two hours and was really nice. Even the staff person that did her hair and the person who did her nails came to see her and hugged her showing that they actually cared and didn't just want a paycheck. Because of the condition my aunt was in, the staff allowed my family members to visit after visiting hours as long as we were quiet, as not to disturb everyone else. My aunt ended up passing away there roughly two days later because of her condition and with there being nothing anyone could do. This was probably one of the hardest times in my life, but the doctors, and staff at Jennie B. Richmond did everything they could do. I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone because the staff here really cared about the residents.
