I've never been in a rehab before but the Island Rehab in Holtsville was and amazing staff who cares so much about the patients. From the employees who keeps the building spotless to the maintenance staff, the nurses, and Michelle the social worker, and the therapy at the gym, and everyone else i missed. Everyone is so friendly and treat you like family. I've been telling everyone about Island Rehab in Holtsville. The gym exercises were great. The food is great and activities also. If I need rehab again it will be here. I came back to visit some patients and the employees too say hello! I had…

I've been to a few rehabilitation centers and physical therapists for my shoulder and they were good but I never received the best care like I did at island nursing and rehabilitation center. This place was unbelievably comfortable, reliable in the preparation of medical and physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy, which I needed all of which was beyond compare. I am in my seventies, and I thought, ohh, my god, I will be tossed around being in a rehabilitation center. But the staff took very good care of me with was friendly and if I need something, they got it to me right…

Great choice, gtrat therapy great people.
I came here completely incapacitated. The staff treated me with dignity and respect. In a week I went from being barely able to walk after major back surgery to walking with a walker. Staff are very friendly and respectful. Recreation asks if I want to attend programs so I never felt just thrown in a room alone. I made frie6.If I had to I'd definitely return back here.
I want you to know that all of the people we dealt with are absolutely wonderful representatives rehab center. I have written individual ones but I’m not sure if they all went through people people in therapy, CNA‘s, nurses, kitchen people are all extremely friendly and caring. I wrote individual ones for Emmanuel and Holly in therapy Cheval nursing NATIJ a nurse. Every single one I can’t even name them all I was very impressed.
⸻ I cannot say enough great things about the care my mom has received at Island Nursing Home and Rehab. We’ve experienced and visited many other facilities, and honestly, nothing even comes close to the level of care and attention here. The head nurse on the floor, Julie, is absolutely amazing—professional, compassionate, and incredibly attentive. On my mom’s first day, Julie assured us that she would be treated like family, and that has absolutely proven to be true. She truly goes above and beyond, and it shows in how smoothly everything is run. The nurses Megan, Jasmine, and Toby have also been outstanding, along with the nurse aides Reina, Israel, and Juan. They are all so attentive, quick to respond, and genuinely caring toward my mom. Any concern or request is handled right away, which gives our family tremendous peace of mind. Even the housekeeping staff has been wonderful—always kind, professional, and willing to help when needed. It really speaks to the culture of the entire facility. When you walk in, every employee has a smile on their face and is pleasant—it makes such a difference. I apologize if I missed anyone, but truly everyone on the second floor has been exceptionally nice, helpful, and caring. We are beyond grateful for the incredible team here and the level of care they provide.
I had a very positive experience at the PT facility at Island Nursing and Rehab. The staff was great and pushed me to make excellent progress which enabled me to now leave and go home.
I don't recommend this place at all. I continuously requested health updates about my mom and they always forgot. My mother died here after developing a very small infection that could've been prevented if taken to the hospital sooner and if I would have been informed. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.
I was sent to Island Nursing and Rehab after a very serious back surgery. I was there for a total of a little over 3 weeks. The first two weeks we're okay. Last week started off a little tense. There seemed to be a conflict within the wing that I was in. Jealousy and animosity, and God forbid you side with someone they didn't like. CNA care became non-existent for me. I would ring the bell on and off for 2 hours. No one came to help me change me or wash me. Finally after sitting in wet bedding for six and a half hours, my husband showed up and demanded they release me. Even the head nurse said she had never seen anything like this. My husband told them they were incompetent and that they would be lucky if you did not follow through with a letter to the administration, and the newspaper. In my opinion avoid this place at all cost.
