If I could give a -100 star Review I would. This place has went completely down hill the last year, or so… The absolute filth mistreatment and lies the residents put up with, I’m surprised they are still open! This so called place is holding by tooth picks and uneducated individuals, Numerous deficiencies not only from nys but the village of Athens as well… This is not an assistant living it is hell! Can they do anything better than meals cooked for the microwave and administration who don’t know a fire hazard, on fire in front of them! This place way was way better when they had people who…

some staff smokes vape inside the building, some smoke crack inside the car with a resident. There are other better places put there. Some resident smoke marijuana inside their room??!! Unbelievable!!!
I visited Home Sweet Home at Athens. It's assisted living and it was clean, pleasant, and seemed to be a good facility. It was smaller, just one large building. The actual place looked good and the dining room is okay. The nice thing about it is you could walk out to the stores in the neighborhood. There are small convenience stores and a library around the area, so that's something good about it. The building has steps though so you would need to be ambulatory.
My husband and I stayed at Home Sweet Home for almost a week in April this year and had a great time enjoying the convenient location and the delicious breakfast, but most importantly the wonderful help the owner [name removed] gave us. My husband’s both legs were swelling badly towards the end of our stay and my daughter was extremely worried about him. She called [name removed] at midnight because she didn’t realize the difference of time and my cell was at silent mode. [name removed] was not annoyed but comforting my daughter and tried to reach me. Additionally she also helped us for all our questions and transfers between the hotel and airport. She is really a great person! We are so grateful for all her friendship and assistance! Hope you can stay at this hotel and you will surely agree with me!
My mother spent the last 5 years of her life at this wonderful Assisted Living Facility. Grateful is an understatement. We were blessed to have found such a homey place. The staff and care was exceptional and my mom made several friends there. The size of the facility really made a difference in the social experience. My mother's mind was kept at ease because she knew someone was always nearby. I would recommend Home Sweet Home of Athens to anyone who is worried about placing a family member in a facility, because this place made an enormous difference in my mother's and my quality of life. God bless the caregivers and owners.
I don't think this community was a good fit for my mom. Her needs exceeded what they were able to offer to her. I for people who are fully functional and ambulatory this is a good option. We chose this community because it was very homey and small. It is not modern and is slightly outdated but we did not mind, it is still very clean.
I found it to be very clean although very small. The only thing you could do independently is to come and go.Scheduled showers and kitchen is OFF LIMITS.Very little freedom and nothing within walking distance...
Clean. Staff helpful in engaging residents. Received a tour when I showed up unannounced. Was pleased overall, with what I saw.
