I visited Harbor House a couple of weeks ago while looking for a memory care option for my mother, and I was very impressed with what I saw. It is a very welcoming place with lots of open space, activities, and large, comfortable rooms. I especially like that the residents are taken on trips and have opportunities to stay active and engaged. Another great thing is that the assisted living facility is right next door. It’s a wonderful option for families who may need assisted living now or in the future, and it makes the transition much easier if a loved one eventually needs memory care. The…
I visited Harbor House a couple of weeks ago while looking for a memory care option for my mother, and I was very impressed with what I saw. The staff was also very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Overall, Harbor House made a very positive impression on me, and I would definitely recommend it to families looking for a caring and comfortable environment for their loved ones.
The way the staff care about the residents is truly unbelievable. Also the recreation provided here is amazing!!!
The staff are wonderful hardworking and patient. I am very grateful for their service. I give praise to God everyday for them.
Oyster Bay Manor is a hidden gem!!! The amazing care that my loved one is getting there is heart warming to myself and our family!!! If you are looking for a smaller assisted living for yourself or a family member with great quality care, check out Oyster Bay Manor, they really care about the residents!!!
As a social worker, I highly recommend staying clear of this place. I witnessed 3 staff sitting in a bus blocking a road at 3:15pm putting bus further from doorway of senior day care, not only putting themselves in a dangerous situation but also putting some people’s loved ones in a dangerous situation. 3 staff came to my car treating me with my 5 year old in the car. The police told me to leave the scene and they would meet me at my home as they witnessed this while I was on the phone calling it in. They said they would not move the bus up and I can fit around them. That unfortunately was not the case. There were zero residents coming out of the building or furthermore on this bus. Meanwhile the staff called it in as a hit and run and residents were loading the bus. If that was the case I would have waited. Instead they were goofing around and giving the finger to drivers asking them to move from blocking active roadway. I wouldn’t trust any human being being cared for by these people.
My mother in law was there and we knew this was the place. The staff are amazing the care is quality and overall a great choice my mom is happy
My dad moved to OBM years ago and it was the perfect place for him. (Review on the OBM page). Due to his continued cognitive decline, he needed to move to HH over a year ago. Like OBM, it is a hidden gem. The small size allows staff/residents to really know each other and the staff is amazing. The aids are truly compassionate, work well together and are constantly helping someone. I live close by and frequent the facility several times a week for short visits. No matter what day of the week you visit, the aids are all fabulous. The med techs are part magicians in helping the reluctant residents take their meds while maintaining an upbeat personality. The activities director Jill works hard to keep everyone entertained and engaged. Krystal and the administrative staff are exceptionally helpful in every respect and go above and beyond to answer questions and put the resident's family at ease knowing their loved one is well cared for. If you are looking for a place for a family member with dementia, look no further, you will be happy you choose Harbor House.
The people who worked at Harbor House were smiling, warm, and outgoing. You don't see somebody walking through looking angry or upset. They're working. The rooms that we were shown were neat, clean, and put together. Depending upon the grade of the one you choose, you can either have a private, semi-private, or shared room. The staff who gave the tour was very lovely. However, they're very expensive.
