From the moment, my father was placed at Elderwood Greece, after a month’s Long displacement,we knew we had found exactly where he should be. It started with Sheila Turner, the wonderful administrator and HillarySchmartolla-Brooks, The director of nursing; who made us feel not only welcome, but supported and cared for. My father announced to us in 24 hours that he didn’t want to leave, stating that he had found his home. Now, if you believe that people end up exactly where they should be, then my dad is exactly where he needs to be. The beautiful picture window in his room, overlooks the same woods that he played in as a young boy. Thank you to Sheila and her amazing staff for their wonderful care of our dad! Bill Hoecker and Karen Blank
Sheila, Hillary, Denise as well as the whole staff are Amazing taking care of my dad who was placed in January. Thanks so much!
Mom seems to like it. She is doing well. She loves the food and the activities. She sets her hair done weekly and goes to mass every week. We are happy. I don’t really have much more to say.
I have worked at Elderwood in Greece for 4 years I am quite loved by all residents and families my name is precious . This is a recording of Danielle in 2018 talking to a resident saying racist slurs Danielle stated that “they are everywhere I feel like the Minority ” she also said “ they breed for assistance they keep having kids more food stamps “ Erica the nurse covered it up despite hearing the recordings But it was eventually brought to hr attention and she was terminated Erica and Danielle are close friends and as of yesterday Erica Rosa hired her back and fired the girl who recorded Danielle inappropriate conversation with a one of Elderwood previous residents this is happening at Elderwood Greece Rochester ny 14626 I can’t post videos but please reach out to me I will be more than happy to send it to you ... they also have 10 employees that are postive or previously tested postive for COVID 19 then also 2 resident that received covid from the nurse who daughter and her self previously tested positive the residents are being neglected and not properly cared for we have multiple residents in the building with open bed sores they are constantly wet and have multiple rashes due to sitting in they own feces please do not let Elderwood fool you please do not send your family here ! Erica Rosa is not a nurse her self and the other to are Lpn there is no rn in this bulding as of 12/8/19 and have not been for the past 4 years your family members are being looked after by students still in school making changed to your family members medication and care plans with out being a registered nurse
I toured Elderwood Village at Greece. It was nice. Everything fit what we were looking for. The price was reasonable. It looked like a nice facility and a nice tour. Everything seemed okay. They seem to have a good facility for meals and entertainment and the room, everything looked nice and clean. It's an older building, but they're remodeling. It looked well-kept and maintained well. I just saw the studio, and it was a nice size. The bathroom was a nice size, too.
They were all so welcoming and accommodating from day one
Elderwood was recommended to my mother and me as a good option for our family member. We got a great feeling the moment we turned onto the drive and our experience just got better and better! We didn't have an appointment, but within a few minutes we were meeting with Sheila, the Administrator. Sheila provided us with all the information we needed which included giving us a tour and introducing us to the staff and residents. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the building was clean and homelike. We looked at another facility, but it didn't compare. The next day Sheila met our family member and us at the hospital and guided us through the process to get him admitted. He's been there two weeks now and we couldn't be happier. I should add that I was licensed by the NY State Department of Health as a Nursing Home Administrator in the mid-1980s. Until retiring, I spent my entire career in senior care in Ohio, New York and California. I know what to look for. I don't know where Elderwood is finding these wonderful people who work for them, or how they are doing what they do at the rates they are charging. I'm just glad we were recommended to Elderwood and hope that our family member is able to stay under the professional and loving care of the staff for as long as possible.
I'm in Elderwood Village at Greece. The layout is good. The grounds are pretty good. The room needs to be just a little bit bigger or have more storage. Most of the staff are very good. There are a few that don't really do the job as well as they could. They're helpful if you have any kind of a problem. Like any other place, if you talk to the right person, you learn who's gonna get something done and who might not. We do crafts, bingo, a few little art things in the activities room, Bridge, and puzzles. The food could be better. It's about half and half. They try in a way to put some things on the menu that people ask for, but sometimes they get carried away. Some people asked if they could do more like creams and Jell-O for desserts and that was fine, but now we're getting pudding way too often.
